Exp killing in snowdonia

I can understand your grief Kagato, but I'd also like to vouch for Clicc here as well. I've been killed at the top of the hill killing rock bounders by Clicc. I MUST be grey to him/her (level 23) and was given every chance to leg it ( \dance \wave \beckon etc). I figured it was a stealther as I couldn't see 'em (no flies on me mate) and was just about to start dancing like a fool when I got one shotted.

I thought it was pretty cool to be toyed with before being executed, and it wasn't an xp kill, but very easily could have been.

Ok I was going to post a long follow up full of wisdom blah blah blah but im to lazy to bother typing it so just a few points to make here:

A) I still think exp killing 'deliberatly' is pathetic

B) Ok I admit it was late at night and I was pissed off so maybe I should of 'chilled out' as someone above put it before posting but I doubt im the first person here to lose my temper now and theres no point editing the bad language out of my first post as then this whole thread wouldn't make sense so im just going to leave it.

Also to the 'if you don't like it don't go there' crowd i'd like to point out that its not the exp we are there for, its a bonus, its the drops, its the only place we can get decent high level armour and drops outside of lyoness and in many ways its better then there.

As for the exp kill, it wasn't one person it was the entire group who got that.


And finally I want to point out that in my first post I CLEARLY stated that I was NOT accusing any other realm, hibs, mids or albs in general of it, just the individuals themselves, I think anyone who does it is pathetic no matter which realm they prefer.


So in closing, yes I regret posting when angry and apologise for the stuff I said which was out of line.

But I still think its a pathetic way to get rps.

You definitely should post more often - its better written and more rational than a lot of the stuff that gets posted here.

I agree with you that xp killing is pretty nasty - its the kind of thing Mythic were trying to avoid when they designed RvR. I think most people that get their kicks from that sort of griefing are probably playing something else by now (UO anyone? - now that was GRIEF). But its also not the end of the world to be xp killed - no worse than a bad pull by a muppet in your group really.

What I find really pathetic is all the Alb / Mid / Hib name-calling and hair-pulling that your post generated. Reminds me of an episode of Blackadder:

when u xp kill some1 u dont get rps - u were 4 in the group (2 healers 2 tanks) the healers cant have benn xp killed, cause mob was not on them, and i looked and did get rps of 1 of the tanks.

this im not 100% sure of but, as i see it, the 1 doing the most dmg to u will get the kill. ei. i do 45% mob do 55% = xp kill - not sure tho, but thats what i go after. could be the 1 getting the last blow in ?

the fact about exp killing is simple.
you kill someone in there frontier when they are gathering exp and you help to slow there leveling.

by helping to slow there leveling you are helping keep them out of your own frontier and thus looking affter your own keeps adn your own low levels who are exp'ing in your frontier.

personally i will exp kill whenever i get the chance.
i will allways kill the healer/reser first.
might kill the others or i might just leave the mob to do it for me.

as a fairly low level hib i have to spend a lot of time in our frontier to get any exp adn i would say that about 80% of my hunts there end in death from a purple middy or alb.
i dont complain about it cos its part of the game.

though it was funny a few days ago.
we were hunting Boars adn suddelny our durid started to die from bow shots.
quick look around and ther is a green kobold.
he stelthed and ran but we had a decent ranger who managed to find him.
we chaced him around a bit and he ran in to a hib patrole.
damn funny

What are the albs whining about?

Massive RvR is always done in Emain and i suppose a good deal of Albs and hibs try to get past emain to kill some lower lvl hibs.

And I haven't been a single time in Uppland or Yggdra without getting deathmessages caused by invaders.

I think it's fun. I always offer myself as bait to a highlvl hunter or shadowblade. He stealths near me i start xping and we got an unpleasant surprise for any invader that attacks me

It's a war out there, if you're going to xp in the frontiers count in some xp deaths for your estimate time to lvl. Saves you from being annoyed when it happens. And if it doesn't well you gain your lvl sooner then expected

i didn't mean to i actually waited till he had stoped killing a mob and i thought it was fine to kill him after he finisehd...so i kill him come back later and theres a grave there! arg!

Ages ago when I was lvl30(ish) I was soloing in Middie.

I killed a mob and was then attacked but left a grave. Checked the combat report and I wasn't attacked til after the mob was dead.

Lol as alb/mid haven´t xp killed hib, realize that u can be xp kill in the frontier, that it is, when I was 30+, we r all forced to SOLO or make some inconsistent group killing craps coz u can never lvl just out of DL. Imagine that out of ur frontier, and stop moaming (no offense anyway )

Anakin (sp?) a female minstrel has managed to harrase my fin group pretty well mezzing both healers, sad it´s a bit too late when I managed to mez stun and killed her, coz our tank has dropped... Some times ppl just FEARED to lvl at fins... ffs that´s near crim and there r always stealthers near by, our guards need see hidden

Nolbypride also tried to xp kill and bee... anyway... last time we were wipeouted by a well organized mid team, their healer rulez, and all those just at some place where 3 patrols will come, if u wanna xp outside, make ur mind clean that u will be xp killed any time of the day. Lately creep seems to only rp kill there... at last when I were, even tried to rp kill an almost died tank to avoid an xp kill

Exp killing isnt that pleasant... I did sometimes, sorry... I REALLY would have liked to wait untill u get full health and then kill u by myself, but... I am thane... I cant stealth, i cant run, i cant stun/mezz (slam rulez, but in melee only)... So the only way for me to kill u iz to cast couple of mjollners as soon as i ran out of the bushes near u... Couple of times had also fight some corge rats together with fg of gray hibs The reason iz that u dont wanna fight u just run away i had the situation then fg of gray hibs were brave enough to try to kill me only once, respect for them, sorry i was bit stronger, but u managed to take 2/3 health out of me... and i nether seen any albs exping in snowdonia... if times changin i should visit u someday...
This iz war btw... what r u doing in frontier if u dont wanna be killed... Try green mobs in yo realm, slow but safe...

P.S. My first 25 rp ever i got from the purple alb archer (ranger or whatever) when he killed our healer while we were exping in Uppland...
