Exp killing in snowdonia

I have never been so disgusted in my life with another player as I have been tonight.

I know full well stray hibs have started showing up on snowdonia for a few easy kills, fair enough, I have even been killed by these myself, shrugged it of and carried on with whatever mission I was on but tonight was a totally different matter.

Tonight 4 of us were wiped out in what has to be the most blatent and deliberate attempt to exp kill I have ever seen.

Congratulations Clicc you've just earned yourself the title of prize asshole of the year.

Whats more we werent the only victems, this twat was deliberatly hiding out in snowdonia waiting for groups to start fighting the Hollow Men, who are out in plain site and can't possible of been unseen or mistaken and then killing the clerics of and picking of the others just to screw our exp. Now yes im pissed having been barely .9 to levelling at the time, but no matter how much you lose this just is not what fucking RvR is about.

What ever happend to respecting your enemies? Im by no means digging at Hibs here, heck last time one got me in snowdonia he saluted us and apologised in forum if accidently exp killed, but twats like these just destroy any respect people have for there enemy realms.

Fair enough, mistakes happen, but to deliberatly set out to screw over someone elses hard work, time and effort for laughs is utterly pathetic.

Don't you think that is a bit uncalled for? Is everyone forgetting that this is just a game? It isn't real life. If you have nothing in your life to get more worked up about than some person in an MMORPG killing you then I'd advise taking a long hard look at yourself. Fair enough it is very annoying but so what, there are car bombs killing people in Spain, Palestinians suicide bombing in Isreal and Taliban terrorists planning to blow up major cities and you're worrying about exp deaths. Just so you know, I don't try and do it myself, but I know i have accidentally done in Sauvage once, but really it is nothign compared to what we get from you - if you can get through to the gorge or ligen you wioll see that due tothe dodgy dsign of Hib we are all practillay force to exp in our frontiers from level 20+, and not many Albs and mids are shy of exp killing us. So the guy is probably taking his revenge on being exp killed a dozen or so times by Albs - now its not you that did it but as far as a great many of us are concerned it was "the Albs and mids" in general who decided it was going to be that way. I am sure that albs think its the hibs and mids, and mids think it's the albs and hibs.

Now you are all indiiduals, but when you see Albs gloating over exp killlsin the frontiers enough times, you all tend to get tarred with the same brush.

its just something you have to live with, it is possible to get by in alb without exping in the frontiers, although it would seem at some point you have to go for dropsform the ellyls, judging by the fact there are always albs there.

And just as you might see it as "hibs" in general doing it, it is only a few of us, just asit is only a few Abs that made a career out of it.

If you don't want to take the risk, don't go out there, it's as simple as that, and learn from us, we often have to have a member of the group just looking for invaders. They all know the place to camp, and they go there - its rare for me to come to ligenor cain without seeing a xxx was killed by albormid message every couple of minutes.

Just be aware the majority of us don't do it, just as the majority of you don'tdo it. For me most of the thrill is getting there as a non stealther, and i hve to attack immediately, as I am always in plain vision, thats fine by me, others have fun in other ways, and some people do just like to cause grief, but when all is said and done it is only a game, and that is one of the things that happens (with depressing regularity in the game).

You'll get your level, and i'm sure one day it will be you in the gorge, I'd like to think that no matter what happens you still go in for the honourable kill, but even if you xp kill my alt I won't get mad at it, just carry on.

Its war, some days i feel nice and let ppl get away with their xp, some days i dont. I'ts war, and since i know its easy to get lvl 50 in hibernia well outside our frontierzones, i'd imagine it should be possible in albion or midgard for that sake aswell.

Feel free to come to the gorge any day, xp-kill or whatever you wish to, us hibbies are getting used to it by now, so one more wouldnt be too much to bother with.

Not to mention the fact that if the guards get them you can be sure they'll be back to put an arrow in your ass or mezz you before you can say expkilledbyAussieorAlpha. It's annoying, yes, but hardly something to get all worked up over.

Besides, I've come to admire the expkillers a bit. To master the art of expkilling you need dedication, guts and a fair amount of brains, not everyone have that.

Welcome to the world of the exp-death victim. Infuriating, isn't it? How can anybody sink to that level? Just don't ever forget that your realm-mates are out there, day in and day out, doing unto others. And Hibernia takes the worst of it for a variety of reasons - I don't know if there's anyone in the realm who hasn't been exp-killed at least once by the time they're 35 (the nastiest one I ever suffered was from Zilly, but I've left graves to both Albs and Mids).

Bet you'd like a bit of revenge, eh? It's easy enough to get to the highly populated exp spots in the gorge and collory - they're well mapped, if you don't already know where they are. Plenty of greys to squish there, much more so than in the Middie or Alb frontiers. It's easy enough to exp kill them... sometimes they pull so fast it's hard NOT to exp kill the little dears. It's only fair to put some n00b hibbies through the same nasty experience you had to go through, isn't it? Of course, then they'll be just as mad as you were, and as soon as they're high enough they'll be off to Uppland and Snowdonia, because "they started it."

When I was going through my collory levels I saw plenty of Clicc's graves around. He knows what it feels like.

After I calmed down, I decided that I wasn't going to let some tool of a griefer turn me into one. So what are you going to do?

anyway, hibs get exp killed day in day out, and you complain because of getting exp killed once? lol. last night alone my group had about 6 or 7 exp kills at least between them because of a certain minstrel, she died the first time though

exp death is the price for whatever is in the frontier, so if you aint making exp thats all that valuable then dont go there

anyway if clicc is outnumbered then of course he would strike while you are occupied, and he wouldnt leave the ubercleric alive a smite cleric is well know for being overly uber, so is better off dead. maybe you shoulda brought a friar with you

Well I rez'd Kagato and the other 3 Clicc killed/xp killed at the hollow men last night cause my Cleric was logged there after Clicc had a pop at my n00b Minst. (Think Clicc must kinda suk though cause I wasn't even one shot at lvl 27).

Got 2 disagree with Kagato and agree with the Hibbies here though n1 Clicc for doing exactly what I'm lvling my minst for. Risk u have 2 put up with in the Fronteir.

Shame you didn't try 2 attack me but I didn't really think u'd be st00pid enough 2 try it

I don't think experience killing should be frowned upon, it's not easy to execute by any means and after all those that venture in the frontier zones do so at their own risk.

I admit I have attempted this strategy, yet I don't feel ashamed if I pull it off however I do feel a small smig of sympathy for the player who is the recipient. Call me whatever you want, but after all we are at war and I'm doing it on behalf of the many Mids who are experiencing the same as Kagato. but on a much more regular basis.

1. weee found a new xp spot in snow was kinda bored, so i had a look around.
2. how long do u want me to sit around and wait for u to finish u mobs and gain back health ? 1-2 hours ? and i am sorry that 1 of u got an xp death, as i normaly dont do xp killing on perpose. but to say i have to go to these boards and say im sry ? if all xp deaths had a "im sry" thread here - lol ?

congo: kinda quessed it was u alt, as i saw u log on the top hill btw. u mist con green to me as i am not that nigh lvl yet.


1 last thing. i like to say this in advance, so the boards dont get over spammed with it later "I AM SRY FOR ALL I MAY CAUSE XP DEATH IN SNOWDONIA". but hey, i have never seen any other invaders in snow, so i kinda think u alb have it easy on this 1 - cause i know HIBS get i every day. and i sure like to go to yggdra/uppland

2nd last thing: i actualy /way /dance /beckon, even unstealth to the grey con albs on the hill, but when they then just look around a hunts on - well what can i say

Zilly, you executed me in the most nasty, premeditated, cold-blooded exp kill it has ever been my displeasure to even hear about. You snuck up behind me in Collory and waited until just after I had pulled an Irewood, and then stunned me and sat beside me watching the Irewood close to melee range and start beating the crap out of me, and then when I ran and made it away from that stupid tree you followed me. I managed to stealth but of course you could see through it, and you finished me off easily. I won't say that I was angry, exactly, but let's just say that if you had been in the same room as me right at that moment I would have happily unplugged my keyboard to beat you to death with it (it's one of the old IBM ones, very solid and heavy).

It's just a game, though. Cheers!

It's a shame I couldn't log out and back in quick enough but guessed u'd work out what was going on and it was unlikely I'd be lucky enough 2 have spotted u.

If my minst was green con 2 u guess that makes u mid-high 30's so I think you did really well getting to snowdonia and there were a fair few death messages. I thought u'd be higher so taking out the grp at the hollows wasn't bad going at all and they didn't loose that much xp and no const cause they got a rez.

You got me 2 or was it 3 times but u did more damage than the bounders so no xp deaths and even if there were no complaints from me.

Alrindel, yes I remember our little encounter and since you have reminded me of my actions naturally I feel a bit of a git (to put it mildly) and I would totally understand you would have liked nothing more than to have beaten me repeatedly around my bonce with a heavy duty keyboard.

I admit it was premeditated, once I saw you on your own I began planning what to do. I decided first to apply a snare poison so you wouldn't be able to escape. Once you fired your first shot I would immediately attack using a lesser style move in order to reduce your health by aprrox. 80 %. but not kill you outright and allow the Irewood to do it for me and get you exp killed. Unfortunately it went a bit wrong as you managed to escape albeit far enough from the Irewood but not from me. You should have ran back to Collory keep while you had the chance and not tried to of outstealthed me because feeling gutted that my evil cunning plan failed I naturally took it upon myself to finish the job off instead

Congo, don't feel you have to level your minstrel for that, I can guarantee that running around in someone elses frontiers alone, unsteathed and unspeeded, not knowing when the next patrol is coming or when some stealther looking for you is going to show up is fun in itself, and getting a few kills in is a bonus.

Well, I didn't realize you were an assassin type (I confess here I really have not done my homework properly and I don't know the enemy classes as well as I should) and I thought my best option was to stealth away. In fact, I remember thinking, "phew, got away!" after I managed to stealth a reasonable distance from you. This is a pretty common archer weakness, I think: we always think we are completely invisible until an assassin comes by to teach us otherwise.

Also I was not thinking too clearly at the time since I was screaming in fury and pounding my desk with both fists and steam was coming out my ears.

I do that quite happily with my Cleric and I can solo a blue/yellow patrol if they're unlucky enough 2 bump into me

I've also borrowed a reasonable lvld scout to try stealthing about the frontiers and that's much more fun. Will test it myself soon in the lvl25-29 bg with my alt although no one is likely 2 be xping there I guess.

Lucky you, your patrols all seem to have a "resist my mez" ability

I might try and borrow a highish shade and see how that works out some time, failing that, expect to see my ranger in the BG as soon as I can get him from 12 up to to 20.

in fact he might even make it down to sauvage some time soon, I guess the players out there might be less than purple to a level 12?
