Well, I wouldn't go back and ask for it, actually. If my boss wouldn't give me 2 days off when I needed it when I was usually a good worker that took the extra shifts when it was needed, then he/she could just wave goodbye to an, until then, good worker.
Seriously, wouldn't want to work for that kind of person, ever.
I once tried a boss giving me the shit. Was sick one thursday and had to go home, which was no problem. I was throwing up and shit all afternoon, but got better in the evening and the next day I felt completely fresh, so I went off to work, because I don't stay home if I feel fresh. 4 hours into work and I feel like shit. I worked at a line which is not very good to be looking at if you are feeling like throwing up, but I only had 3 hours left, so I tried to stick it. One of the 2 bosses comes walking by and stops besides me and asks me if I am feeling well, because I look like I feel terrible. I tell her the truth and she tells me to go home. I go out, over to a booth there where we write down our hours and fill out the forms for the day and on my way from there and to my bike, 2nd boss (asshole) comes by and stops me. Tells me he can't use "half-day" workers for shit, and I can't just come and go like I please and if I do that ever again, he will fire me (wtf? Other boss just told me to go home, wasn't me who decided it), so I quit, told him off on being a complete asshole, and that I would never work there ever again. Never been there since, was told later by a friend through that the boss who gave me the day off flipped on the asshole after she heard what happened
