Probably not much.. some obscure functionalities that you wouldn't use much anyways.

Honestly, i don't know but.. i use Office 97 still at home and never missed anything important to my knowledge.

You wont be able to open any new office documents on an older version unless they Save Down.

iirc there is a very good Office suite which is almost identical to MS Office. Cant be certain but I thought it was free...

If you want the official version, ask someone you know who's good with dodgy downloads to get a copy of office 2003

I guess I never had an need for opening other people's excel files made on newer versions.. but depending on your situation Ez that might be an issue then.

yikes lol i only asked because im readin a "Excel for dummies" to brush up on my skillzorz and its '03 and my version on the *spit* lap top *spit spit* is '07

I've used open office at home since...well a long time. It's a great free Word.

Basically does all the things, with a bit more work though.

While an awesome free office suite, it struggles to represent some elements from the MS Office - which is understandable given than MS Office is not entirely open source, and Open Office runs on a VM =)

Just dont get scared the first time you open a word doc in OpenOffice and find your diagrams all over the place!

- Able to open older version .xls files
- Few more format options.
- Faster.
- Alot of reference help (e.g. it should tell you when you screw up, if you do)

The difference between 07 and 03 is massive but its all cosmetic. Depending on the version you have OEM Retail ect if you can lay your hands on a copy of 2003 you will be legally allowed to run it with your 2007 licence.

I like 07 now but it would be hard to follow a course for 03 on 07 as all the menus have changed.
