Excel Issue

Hi Guys

I have a problem with my excel.

All my sheet names begin with .xls]name Where name is the name I have given the of the sheet.

When I go to change the name of the sheet it lets me the once BUT puts the .xls] in front of everything. The second time I go to change it wont let me it says that the name is invalid. It will only let me if I shut down and start Excel up again, BUT again putting the .xls] in front of it.

If I go into the visual basic editor it does the same

Can someone help me?

I guess you've tried a remove and reinstall? Do the same problems occur if you open said workbook(s) on another system? At the risk of being facetious, how about grabbing a copy of Open Office and using that?
