Excel graphs

Excel is shit, our whole class has a assingment to do but it seems excels basic graph creator cannot do what we need it to do. (even the tutor could not get excel to do what he wanted when trying to demonstrate somthing on the screen)

What was it you wanted to do? Excel graphs are very flexible, even if they are ridiculously over complicated for some simple tasks.

have the Y axis numberd from ZERO to seven,

and the X axis 80 to 364, i can do everything pretty much but i cannot make the Y axis Zero to seven, i seems to start from one ignoring the data i imputted from source, also is there a way to flip axis around? that would be really useful]

I can edit the cat X labels, but ofc, it wont let me do the cat Y ones, i end up with 80 to 364 on both ruddy axis

EDIT: I DID IT! but excel refuses to display my data now
in reality it should not matter what way round it all is, as long as all the data is there and correct, but no i HAVE to have the 0 to 7 on the Y axis, excel no like

Try pressing Control+W for the Graph Editor bwahahahah

Choose your type of graph in the first menu, then click next. Once there, go into the tab 'series' and you'll see 'x values' and 'y values'. In these you get to pickexactly what values are listed there. If necessary, you can type out 0-7 on excel and then pick them from there.

Once you've sorted your x and y axis, you can go back to the 'data range' tab and select the required values from there. It should then stick to what you've chosen.

This is for office 2003 by the way although it should be similar for 2007 or anything before 2003.

you can control the axis ranges by right clicking the axis and selecting "format axis", then click the scale tab and uncheck the auto box, then set the number/interval you want

To flip axis, try using "rows" instead of "columns" in the "source data" options area.

Depending on the subject, the tutor might not even use excel at all :>

hes a physics tutor, and it was only a quick demo

youd think though, if youre teaching excel you should know excel.

i remember last year, some of my friends had a biologist teaching them advanced maths. i would of been really fucked off if he was my teacher. i went into one of their classes once and i knew more than him about the subject :/
