Excalibur Upgrade

I wrote this to GOA after the server crash when we did a RR on Hibernia.

I'm so pissed of at you people at GOA right now, that i will not hold back.

It is so fucking lame that the English Excalibur Server is not upgraded yet.
It's the second time Midgard gets a zonecrash when WE try a relic raid.

This is NOT the first, second or third time this happens and will not be the last until you do something about this lame problem.

This is not good for GOA as a company, since you have proved that you might be incompetent to run this kind of game...

So you either might wanna upgrade the servers that need NOW or never release another MMORPG in europe. If you will not do something about this, i swear i will never buy anything that you host ever again.

27-06 friday news contains GOA's last promise about timetable.
They say ** within 2 weeks ** .

So before friday we will have our new hardware installed. Surely they would have told us if there was yet an other delay.

To be frank, I'm surprised they bothered to email you back at all.

A few simple rules that you must ALWAYS follow in order to recieve a reply and/or useful information when contacting a business such as goa.

1. Never curse in any way shape or form, this automatically makes you look like a prick with nothing good to say, no matter what message you have.

2. Use propper grammar/spelling.

3. Talk politely and maturely.

4. Do NOT insult them


I'm aghast that they actually bothered to reply , but nice to know they're upgrading the server.

It is not being upgraded yet, they are preparing it for the upgrade. The real upgrade still has to happen in the near future

Excalibur upgrade time !

We have completed the final tests and everything seems to be working as it should with the new hardware for Excalibur. We will do the upgrade tomorrow, the 10th of July, and the plan is as follows :

* Around 9 am BST, the Excalibur server will be taken down.
* Around 11 am BST, Excalibur should come back up, running on the new machines.
* Around 11.01 am BST, we take a cup of coffee and monitor the server stability.

Please note that the server may need minor adjustments after the upgrade and that the above times are estimates.

That is it in all its simplicity. See you at the raids !

It is absolutely NOT ACCEPTABLE that AGAIN the server crashed on a MID vs HIB relic raid ! the previous relic raid attempt failed because the fekking server went down and when it came up the doors were fully repaired again. this time we had a superb organized raid again but that FUCKING server went down again ! We pay money to have a nice server, but instead of upgrading Excalibur you give those germans a new server ! what the hell is this for an MMORPG if you can't even play it with alot of ppl because the server will go down ! basicly there is no way we can ever get those fecking power relics back cuz everytime we try those hibs are protected by the server which will go down. and now I read that those fucking albs took of with the relics abusing the server crash and the fact alot of ppl could not and at the time of this writing STILL ( !!! ) can not log in ! so what is next ?? a new french server ??? We wish to express our sincere apologies to all Excalibur players who suffered from the crash of the end of june in one way or another.

All English players (it means all players who registred their accounts via the english subscription interface) with an active account when the problem occurred will receive a free day which will be added to their subscription period.
