Excal server population

As the XML is back up and working, I went over to Duskwave to compare the lvl 50 population of the 3 realms. Wed 14th Jan 2003

Albion - 2967 characters (41.8%)
Midgard - 2283 characters (32.1%)
Hibernia - 1855 characters (26.1)

(total lvl 50 population is 7105 lvl 50 characters = 100%)

If we look at realm ranks.

           rr3    rr5     rr7   rr10
Albion     809    305     72     9
Midgard    698    227     70     4
Hibernia   527    173     67     10

Just some info, not going to say anything about how justified the Mid alarm clock relic raid was based on this info, etc.

When any realm tries to take relics from albs,
albs bring all their rvr-inactive alts. Every alb and his dog has necro/caba/firewiz or something like that uke:

2968 lvl 50 albs vs 2284 lvl 50 mids - Alb population is 30% higher than Mid one.

About 400+ of lvl 50 albs are Necromancers, who can't ever try to play in a RR feature because the LoS isues, and almost all that lvl 50 necros have another lvl50 main player.

Sorry, missed that. 2 days ago Duskwave was not yet showing Mid population (guess a slight bug).
Even now it is not 100%, cause maybe some people have not played their character in the passed week.
I did not include rr1 and rr2 population, in the hope of filtering out inactive rvr players really. How long does it take to get 70+k rp and rr3? For a Mid one day, for an Alb around 1 week.
A lot of those necro's won't be over rr2, mine is r2l4. Only really the necro's that were 50 when the LoS bug was there where able to get higher (one or 2 exceptions there of course).

And yes, Albs do have the highest population, but with such numbers, it would make no difference, if all Albs and all Mids attacked a relic keep, the server would crash 100% certainty. Albs have a lot more lvl 50's, simply because not one class is really uber (Alb stealthers are pretty good, which explains why Albs have so many infs, just like Midgard has so many sb's). So if we look at the "active" rvr population, we see that this is a lot closer than the lvl 50 population difference alone would show. Somewhere around 10% merely.

Also a thing to remember:
Non guilded ppl will not show up on any class report ( at least not on duskwave). So trying to get an accurate as possible census is meaningless until Goa/Xml parsers can prove all people will be included in their reports.

It was the general consensus among Mids that Alb population actually justified them breaking the agreement between Albion, Midgard, and Hibernia to no longer do early morning relic raids.

Most players didn't even know about any agreement. Of those that had heard about it few had actually signed up for it.

And the person that lead the alarm clock rr was very aware of the threaty.

It's just common decensy for fucks sake, something that was once intended as a good thing to stop lame early morning raiding now has turned into the thing everyone blames "o we didn't know about that sorry".

there was _NO_ agreement about time of the raids (as there is no agreement about zerging emain or not killing greys etc)
mids did it because they could do it

ps. if you think there actually _was_ agreement, give me link where gms of at least top 10 guilds from each realm posted

If you compare at many lvl you'll find that the poppulation is roughly split at 42%Alb/32%Mid/26%Hib (give or take a %). Albion is roughly 31% higher in population compared seperatly to Midgard and 38% to Hib.

number of L50s is meaning less I know 2-3 people who have several L50 chars but don’t RvR at all - you can make up what ever you like with numbers and statistics what is important is fact not conjecture

7am <shrug> I could not enjoy defending the relics that I had helped capture some time before

I cant dictate how people play the game they pay their subs as I do - I always liked the agreement even when we did not have the str relics as it kept in sprit to the game as I felt good about the long campaign of raid and wearing down the Mids resolve to defend until the final push and achieving a successful raid rather than waking up to find they were gone

c'est la vi - I know I wont ever participate in an alarm raid and I think that is true of almost everyone I know in game - no fun - no satisfaction from working hard to get the result just waking up early - killing some NPCs and then thinking up some justification of why it was 'necessary'

Even though i hate savages just as much as fagfils. tbh i think the mid alarm clock raid was perfectly justified. Just like you albs think its perfectly justifiable that you zerg emain 24/7 with RR size numbers.

in simple terms so you 10 year old albs can understand.
