From what I understand, the backup power supply was damaged when the first one failed. Either as a direct result of the failure or by whatever caused the first one to break in the first place.

Sounds bad and tbh hope nobody got hurt. Anyways despite the downtime im sure i can speak for the majority of ppl by saying thanks Requiel for the fast repies and feedback

All servers are running with patch 1.73 because we are! And soon 1.75, and the v.152 is the patcher version. They are two differant things.

Meanwhile, GoA webby is up.

That is partially because the website and our way to update it also went down when the problems occured.

Keep an eye on the website there will be a message about this soon.

Homepage has been up for a good while... laggy but still accessable.

Despite I hope there's at least one person hired specifically to handle the news stuff for their webby, I think the network problem has been utilized for more higher priority than the webby and the news there.

So if guys there know the european community resides here at FH and reads the boards actively and this is the fastest channel to provide info about incident going on, I see no probs and/or reasons to whine here at all.

OMG I don't want to know price of router of capacity over 1,000,000 packets per second (my guess what the main daoc-GOA router has to transfer)...

GL with getting new one up fast GOA (I know the rituals about boot up optical network cards very well) ;-)

Give GOA a chance for once.

Servers are not down often for starters and when they are they are up fairly quickly.

The problem has been disclosed to let people know which short of fixing it is about as much as they can do for now whilst they provide regular updates.

Network/Router problems happen as with all things in IT even if you have backup so don't be so quick to jump to conclusions about bad planning or lack of redundancy.
