Well, don't know the broad, don't know the bloke, same as any "attempted murder", so, all i can say on the matter is, if you're absolutely gonna kill someone, alteast finish the job and don't do it half-a**ed.

She ran debts and decided to keep them quite. Then, as if seeing it as the easiest way out, decided to kill her husband for his life insurance.

Anyone ever think sanity checks should be manditory?

I think she deserves a punishment wosre than murder as when you die you as the victim are not in constant pain, but this poor guy is going to die a painful slow death with no quality of life so i think she deserve worst than murder let alone attempted murder.

i gues the death sentance was found morally worse than murder its self.

parliament got a free vote in the 70s or something and the majority voted to abolish it :/

The annual murder rate is 20 times higher now than it was back before capital punishment was abolished, that is a good indication of the effect removing the ultimate penalty produces.

aye but the vote was put to them again and they still voted no, so i dont see it coming back.

but in 30 odd yrs, how can you see the increase in murder is purely down to that?

Can't punish the guilty, can't deter the unjust, can't slap your kids for doing wrong.

Its a sad state of affairs when your prisons have a waiting list to get in. Its as bad as the NHS.

It isn't. (0.67 then to 1.62 now for England and Wales) It's also a bit silly to blame the abolishment of capital punishment for all of that, especially as most research seems to indicate that it doesn't make a difference.
