No - lag and blobs is nothing new. But the introduction of the new system just encourages even larger blobs (and thus more lag) than before. Due to the new sov system basically moving blobs from gates, then to outposts and i-hubs and at last to tcu. In the end it's the old system in a new wrapper

The original philosophy of Dominion was to let smaller alliances being able to take space and have less homogenous powerblocs. Nothing new would ever happen in that regard

In addition Dominion failed to make 0.0 space more alluring, it's still not as profitable as running lvl 4 missions in highsec (and probably will never be)

Plexing/Wormholing only just beats lvl 4 missions for pirate factions.

Having compared the income streams between lvl 4 in empire and lvl 4 in npc 0.0 there's a whole world of difference in income streams.

0.0 is way more alluring than empire but it's risky and I suspect there's alot of people who prefer to more or less afk mission run with drones and permarunning tanks

I also think it's waaaay too early to judge as regards whether dominion has "worked or not". We're less than a month into the patch, the market hasn't settled yet and neither have the politics.

It's the players who stop small alliances taking space, not the system btw.

Yes but the system was supposed to encourage the players, but it has failed to :p

None the less, highlights of the expansion is the fleet finder which frankly is awesome, improved ingame mail and browser

I suspect smaller alliances will get space that nobody really wants.

Interestingly I have seen postings from certain alliances that certainly suggests that cartels are at work fixing technetium prices to ensure that the income lost from Dysp and Prom moons is merely replaced by Technetium.

Time will tell whether they're successful but the price of tech2 ships right now is horrible

Getting a bit bored of Eve now... It seems I am spending more and more time just queuing skills and logging off again, with Star Trek online coming out in soon I can't see me carrying on past my subs. Mining bores me, running npc missions bores me and I don't have the ship skills for any meaningful pvp. Its a great game but the learning mechanism sucks badly. I have a couple of hundred million ISK kicking around so I may play the market for a bit and see if that's any good.

get in a cheap frigate and sign up to your local militia.

Go out for some fights and see how you get on. If the pvp grabs you start searching for a decent introductory corp to find likeminded people and go kill shit ;)

Yes, go out and seek action. Join a corp that is heavily involved in FW or even 0.0. If you want some variation it's easy enough. You don't have to be in a battleship to be useful in gangs either

Recons still handy? Been a long time since I lapsed but I did enjoy them. Also being a grapple bot (incerceptor?) in a small group was always worthwhile for new players.

My mate s just bought 10 hulks as he says their price will double in the comming weeks.

is he right or an idiot?

These'll fetch a good price now if he's still got them :) Hulkageddon 2 has passed the 500 Exhumer kill mark and still has the weekend to go.

Yeah Recons are fun but with t2 being what it is atm I'd stay away. I think Rapiers are back up to 160mill and there's quite a bit of market pvp going on with people buying cheap rapier stocks up and relisting at 160mill + each.

Battlecruisers probably give best bang for buck atm. Hurricanes and the like. If not them - I'd try the old faithful rigged tech1 cruisers with as much t2 equipment as you can jam in.

The old 1600mm Plated Rupture NEVER get's old :)

Shame, used to really enjoy my Lach's & Araz's. Think I was training up caldari cruisers when I quit so I never got to p people off in the falcon :).
