They don't regen naturally - the only way to increase your pet's health (from what I can see at least) is through posts. Either your own posts, or a 'rich' post-farmer to bankrolling your pet, or winning bets.

is there any strategy to the attack btw? looks like
attack=lots of damage
counterattack=do nowt but do 50% back if they attack you
defend=?

never got to try out defend what does it do? looks like the best strategy is: "attack lots" and be the person being challeneged so you go first

Defend seems to make your opponent's next attack do less damage to you, which doesn't seem to be a great tactic to me...

Also, putting your pet up for challenge seems to mean that although you go first, you don't get to choose your opponent - and therefore you may face a much more powerful adversary and have little chance

As you post, you get money, when you can then spend on health (in the shops) to heal your dog.
