no democractically elected government where the power is given to a small or select number of men want you to run your own life. this would be too dangerous.

i had the choice of voting lib dem, green or conservative in my local area. the tory candidate is a local chap who came to our house in person, was happy to talk to everyone and gave plenty of information on his policies. nothing from the other two.

i went to vote on thursday morning with the notion of voting tory. i thought the man deserved my vote for his hard work if ntohing else.

but i physically couldn't do it. i thought about ruining my ballot paper but felt that i had to vote, so i voted green as a sort of protest vote.

not that it makes any difference as this is a staunchly tory area.

Well as i understand it There should be at least two people standing to take over as leader of the party/prime minister,and then members of the labour party should vote for who they would prefer.

However in this particular case there doesn't seem to be anyone standing against Mr Brown.

In my opinion the conservative party reward those who go out and work hard to make living and better themselves.

Where as traditionally Labour would rather spend your pension and tax £'s on workshy fops and teenage mothers.

Give it 20-50 years and England will have a permanent Tory government as Labour will have been eradicated from england, scotland SNP and Wales Plaid Cymru, end of the Union and we can all settle down to being nice little member states of an EU that no longer has "pesky brits" threatening to veto stuff thus furthering its expansion and control by the French and Germans.

Well its really quite simple (teaching you to suck eggs here I'm sure), in a general election you vote for a person to represent your interests from the constituency in which you reside. That person may or may not be a member of a political party. The party decides which of it's elected MPs should be Prime Minister.

Both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have both been elected by the members of their constituencies, so there is no need for a general election.

I didn't like Tony Blair much but I still think that hes an allright bloke (yes I can see through the spin). Gordon Brown is just a gray faced mealy mouthed socialist pension raping stealth taxing mong, and I can't see many Englishmen voting for Labour at the next general election when he's in charge.
