Epic bug or just stoopid?

Been doing my epic (unnatural forces - complete) and i got a problem

doing it with lvl 48 warden and me lvl47 hero both at same stage of same quest.

at stage 9 atm. every time we kill Madawg nothing happens, no xp, crystal staff, no you will not defeat me........ NOTHING.

What i wanna know is, do you need to be higher lvl to do this stage successfully? or are we a victim of a bug? or are we missing something?

Any help/ suggestions appreciated.

Just says in my journal "Madawg killed Ysberin"
and ive killed her twice now and nothing happened

Try talking to the guy you talked to before going there.

When i talked to the new guys at alain binn i was grouped and didnt have time to finish the conversation. but my journal updated anyway and i couldnt understand why killing develin wouldnt work....

Anyway, could be the same type of bug for you guys? try talking to the guy you talked to last time in your epic...might be the solution to your problems..

I know the path of essence epics could be done not being at level 50 in patch 1.49 but not in 1.50 (you were stuck at step 16). Perhaps it is something to do with that (i.e., you ned to be level 50 tocarry on)?

I've done this part of quest solo at lvl 48 and can tell you that it's not because you're not lvl 50 that it isn't working. I'd look into Niljindil's suggestion as i've heard of it happening in other quests too. I did it just a few days ago too so it's not anything to do with a new patch.

p.s. when u get it fixed and are movin onto the next step give me a ring, i'm doubtfull if i'll be able to solo cronicorn.

yep I did also kill Madawg, was with one chanter in group . I got the crystal staff in inventory after kill.
Seems strange that he says you will never take him tho.. Try again?


And I also need to kill that cronicorn

Laveneth (50 warden) and I (46 ranger) have killed him three times so far and he won't drop the staff, and the journal does not update. We went back to Alainn Bin after the first time and tried to talk to everybody there, which didn't change anything. I wonder if it is level related. Oh, and Madawg gives no experience, either.

EDIT - It looks like you need to be level 48 or so to do this step.
MUCH LATER EDIT - No, this is wrong too... see below.

Laveneth and i disbanded, he pulled Madawg and started fighting it, and when he had good aggro i started shooting him to soften him up a bit. Laveneth got the item, and I got experience for the kill (but no staff). Then we reversed, I pulled Madawg with Laveneth healing and manual bubbling. I killed him, but got neither exp nor item. So it appears that if you are below 48, or if you have someone who is below 48 in your party, you can't do this step of the quest.

Tried to kill the fearie court the other day with Xental, killed them all but did'nt get to step 5 .. I'M BROKEN AWWWWWW!!

Oh and btw, look at my specc at lvl 50

50 Large Weapon
49 Valor
28 Parry
7 Shield

And I have 49 left to spend :uhoh:

I'm GIMPED I tell yah Just a warning to yah other chimps out there who thinks you should increase your shield. Good thing that respec is coming sometime this millenia...

hmm wird about the madawg thingy, try lvl 50 first maybe

remember we was in CF just us 2 to take the fearie court thingies, after alot of aggro dodging we found the loc. And when we arrived there it was just becoming daytime, so we had to wait a while. We pulled one of those scorpion thingies while waiting just for fun...ofcourse we won but OMFG thats the worst thing I ever seen, they casted a desease that last 20 fecking mins!!!!!! Imagine not regenerate hp in 20 mins without a healer....BAH. that was kinda very annoying.

Then after a while the fearie court poped. It was quite a few of em. So from fear of adds I pulled one a bit off from the others, that was orange to 50. It seemed to go pretty well it health dropped fast. but then it casted a insta heal on itself and got allmost full hp again. I was using shield/blade and gorguss LW, so he got the aggro when no end left and died then it was only me and the mob left, after alot of bashing at him and blocking he almost died when he put up another insta heal....I kept fighting him for a very long while..he kept doing insta heal all the time, and I used both moose and IP, but he still used the insta heal and it was inpossible to kill him. I died as well after a while.

So an advice if you trie that bring a pbaoer

Gorguss what have you done!

To get 50LW 50valour and 7 shield (for engage and guard 1 at level 5) you should only have gone to 27 parry. Going to 28 means you havent enough points 50 LW 50 valour and 7 shield.

Bet you cannot wait for respec.

I would suggest

50LW 50Val 27 parry 7 shield 7 1h weapon or ignore the 1h weapon and go for 10 shield.

I went for the 1h version.

But you gotta see me parry 0.5% more often than any chimp with 27 in parry out there lol!!

Thanks for the tip Feldegast, I'm gonna go own that stupid advisor afte his beatch gilfriend creamed me totally!

Did you guys solo the court btw becouse I tried together with Xental but did'nt get to step 5.

Me and Excali had the same problem with madawg, try pulling him with ya bow and keep shooting at him so u interupt his cast. Becuz he doesn't shoot at u but at himself, or atleast that was what he did when me and Excali were at that step. we killed him like 10 times before we tried interupting him all the time with bow, first try we got it i can't say if it was that, but worth a try i'd say

Nothing is dropping

All it says is Step 8: Madawg a Siabra Magi killed Ysberin..
Ive tried talking to her ( and died ), ive killed her solo, and in a group.. and also with a lvl 50 on the same step (he never got it either)
Either its supposed to be a rare drop or its bugged.

Got the staff at the weekend, was in a full grp of 49/50's. Madawg Aggro'd us on the way to the hag, we were heading to kill cronicorn prior to an EZ hunt.

To be honest I have no idea how it works, level 50's seem to get the staff the first time they kill him. Maybe it is either bugged or a much rarer drop for lower levels .

Well last night when I tried Ii was with Vulcan, Fair and Darkexec all lvl 50..
I think its bugged somehow..

This morning, at level 49, I went out with a level 48 druid and killed him. Got the staff immediately.

Then Novo told me that he had gone out there at 46 with two other rangers who were both 45, they killed him repeatedly while grouped and eventually after 6 or 7 tries, they all got the staff.

Then I went back with two level 49 wardens. It took us about 5 times, and we tried different combinations - me disbanded and helping, me disbanded and not helping, all disbanded and only one warden hitting with the other healing. In the end we just grouped up and ganked him normally - I pulled and the wardens jumped in. Eventually it clicked and they both got the staff on that final kill.

There is no trick, no logic to it - it's just bugged and random. You can kill him and get the staff from level 45, but you just have to be persistant and kill him over and over until it works.
