So, my wife went for a knee opperation yesterday (quite standard not hard apparently) basicly she was meant to get a large chunk of bone which had broke lose removed from her knee.. then surgeon was then meant to drill the cartlidge to prompt it to grow back faster (shes had the same opperation twice before in belgium)

Anyway! the surgeon finishes the opperation and says to her "I only removed the bone" gave no clear reason why he didn't finish it properly...

THEN she had to see a physio so he could assess how she moved around etc (This part was the biggest joke) the physio said she could move around perfectly without help and even put full weight onto her leg :l.

So we get home and she starts complaining of pain when she tries to walk with the leg she'd just had a knee opperation on (by instruction of the physio) found out not only can she not walk but she thinks its been made worse by putting weight onto it (once again by instruction of the physio)

English hospitals truely are a fucking farce.

Go private or stfu. In all seriousness though my mum's been having the same problem with her knee, had the same op and the pains come back. It's a more complicated problem then you think.

No offence but you clearly haven't got a fkin clue what i'm even talking about. Rather than quickly replying to a thread with "Its a more complicated problem than you think" Try researching it yourself, we're quite aware what it is, how its delt with and how often she needs it doing.

And before you reply with more "My mum" stuff tell us all about this disease which you're clearly an expert on :) i'll correct you when you clearly post the wrong thing and make a cock of yourself. (for a second time)

You did since "My mum's been having the same problem with her knee" she have the same disease than my wife then does she?

You really don't have a clue what i'm even talking about in this thread so take your useless medical expertise and don't bother replying again.

My wife has a disease known as "Osteochondritis" which causes the articular cartilage and subchondral bone fragment separate from a joint surface (In short meaning she needs knee opperations every x years) its totally incurable and the surgeon on hand did not perform the procedure correctly. My wife has it in both knee's and has had both knee's opperated on before, the drilling part makes the stability of the knee last longer meaning it'd be MORE years before she needs the opperation done again, simply removing the bone and doing nothing else means she now needs the opperation sooner again as apose to x extra years if the surgeon had done his job correctly and drilled it.

Post farm much? the police thread was truth. Theres a difference.

Ignorance is not truth - it's just a blind vision of what you wish to believe.

But any who - I won't ruin your expert-medical-thread, with another part of society to moan about. I imagine the fire-brigade is in for a right oh stern telling off yet?

Rather moan about it than brown nose it which is clearly your expert area.

It's funny that because I'm pretty sure I admitted in the other thread that there is corruption in the police force but that there are also some good police officers too?

I'd say that's more being realistic rather than brown nosing?

Just because you are throwing all the toys out of the pram and whinging like a baby about how cruel the world is to you - does not mean others see so blindly.

As I said - there are good people and bad people in every industry. The Police Force tries to iron out the problems but undoubtedly corruption will still remain - just like you have corrupt teachers, corrupt doctors, corrupt social workers etc.

Not saying there aren't good officers, all I said was what you needed to join a police force as a laugh followed by a true story that happend to my brother because he dropped a piece of paper on the floor and tried to walk away infornt of an officer.. for his troubles his received £150 fine and 4 punches to the face.

its you that jumped out of your cage and started crying about it.

Don't think we have any doctors on FHOT(correct me if I'm wrong please), so if you want to discuss medicalproblems, you should perhabs explain what disease/problem your wife is having and not come across as such a twat as you are atm BO..

I only turned into a twat when some cock replied with such a silly reply acting like he knew everything about it. If I came across as a twat I apologize.

Initial thread I was just angry at how the hospital had treated my wife, Azurus rather childrish reply of "Go private or stfu" along with "Its more complicated than you think" made me even more angry because I already know what it is, I don't need someone that knows nothing about it telling me what it is and how its treated.

more information of the disease can be found here.

Basically Blood and I (I'm the wife) are worried about how the things went. And yes, we contacted the hospital again about this and hope for some clear answers now.
Main problem for us is the way we were sent home. That physio made me do a few steps and said it was ok. At that time I actually had no feeling in the knee so yes it looked ok to walk without any support. Also my concerns about going to the shop (not that I have to right now) were laughed away.

Since I had operations before for exactly the same I got more worried. They didn't drill the cartilage, no cast for like 6 weeks and no crutches. They told me that they only removed the bone and nothing more after I woke up.

The professor who threatedme before always stressed about how important it was to take complete rest for a few weeks and immobilize the knee for proper healing.
I'm well aware that it will come back but with descent treatment the time between operations will take longer and that this is in my advantage since I have this in both knees.

For us the first answer didn't sound like sarcasm at all but childish. We also know that it is more complicated but blood only gave the main facts here.

My mate's girlfriend broke her arm and had to have a metal pin inserted.

She died of..."complications".

Her family have so far hit a brick wall in trying to investigate what happened.

But........Personally,

I have had no problems. I have had 2 majorish operations and I have nothing but praise for the staff and hospital conditions.

are you living in England now, do you pay taxes, if so good, there is a complaint's process in place for this type of thing, and there are quite a few hospitals in England and to slag them all off in one fell swoop isn't really good munkey is it.

its like saying all cars are crap just because the one that you bought only gave you 15 miles per gallon.

English hospitals truely are a fucking farce.

for the one single case you base your WHOLE view on, i can give about a dozen examples of why the nhs is not a joke.

12:1, english hospitals are not a joke.

have you ever thought the advice your old doctor was given was outdated? medicine evolves hourly, new things are found out all the time. the advice you got recently maybe based on newer findings.

*shudder* I broke my ankle while on holiday a few years back and had an operation while I was still out there. When I came back I went to an english hospital and was told that they'd fucked it up and I'd have to have another one to fix my ankle properly.

They decided to recast it. Fine. A nurse takes off the cast and leaves me sitting there with an unbound smashed ankle for 15mins while they go to find a doctor. I get recast and told that a consultant will see me in an hour so I get to wait around.

I wait around, and the consultant goes home.

I use my dad's medical insurance to go private :p

As I understand it, if you have something truely life threatening like cancer the service is top notch but if its something "trivial" like my ankle then you get triaged I suppose. That I can understand, but if I hadn't had the resource to go private I'd have been broken for a lot longer than the 2-3 months it took me to recover.

I think I lot of the time the system fails because patients see so many different consultants about the same problem, and each person would have a different idea of how to treat it.

I really hope that you get it sorted out Elisabeth, joint troubles are no joke!

I wouldn't use an american hospital if my life depended on it either ;p you not read the news stories about some of the USA hospitals? 19 hour wait times, and in one case a guy actually died of a heart attack because he was waiting almost 20 hours.
