...got exactly what they deserved. I am actually quite pleased about them not making the Euro 2008 finals. So sick of the lack lustre approach they take to matches, god please let McClaren get the sack. He must be the worst choice of England manager EVER!

I said this from the start. Mclaren is bollocks. They should have his head for being so shit. And Venables. And that dumb **** Brian Barwick for appointing those two monkies. :/

Peter Crouch was great I thought, and Beckham changes a game just by being there, but above all, the supporters just dont deserve a team like that.

Maybe not qualifying is the kick up the backside the team/fa needs?

Damnnationx - its 50/50 players and managers fault, the system and tactics were a fucking joke tonight, and what the fuck was he thinking playing a noobie goalkeeper, at least put James in goal. Gerrard played worse thean anyone I have ever seen in an England shirt.

Crouch was great and I do like Beckham for his passion but fuck all the other posing wankers, good on Russia they deserve it.

Lets see if they donate their 150k bonus to charity now, my money is on they won't, after all Gerrard needs it for his birds weekly clothes allowance.

I can't believe I am saying this but I wish Scotland had made it through, they played in the spirit and with the passion deserving of a national team.

If only Big G would let me marry his sister I would change to a jock for sure.

England had time and time again been given opportunities over the past few months to settle up and secure qualification, but they had/have been completely lacklustre.

Sure, you can blame half the team being injured, but realistically that excuse starts to wear thin after so many disapointing games. While McLaren did a job at Middlesborough, it wasnt exactly... World Class. And after the whole Sven shenanighans i think that put people off wanting another foreign manager.

But around about now, i would love to take Jose Mourinho on. so what hes foreign, he is World Class and has made some accomplishments. I would probably say yes to giving Martin Jol a crack as well, but thats because he is just plain awesome.

I dont know the reasoning for why McLaren dropped Paul Robinson though, hes been playing for quite some time, then to drop him to someone "inexperienced" on the most important game over the past few years is beyond me.

The team tonight played shite, only 2 players i felt where decent - Beckham and Crouch. Admitedly, i hate Crouch, but that goal was an absolute corker tonight - And you felt the mood switch as soon as Beckham got the ball, as if something could happen.

I was amazed we got back to 2-2, but for some reason i knew inside me that the game was far from over, and in typical England fashion i expected something to go against us. Again over the past few month [and tonight] we've been hoping that someone else does our dirty work for us, but tonight wasnt like previously.

Heres to getting rid of McLaren!

hes on about DAOC :) hes from crawley as well go find him with the shotty :p

England were shit. Mclaren is clueless, 4-5-1 at home when you have to get a result sure thing buddy gg. Crouch was the only player on the park who wanted to be there. beckham was typically Beckham a player with ability and influence. If Fat Frank had half of his ability to change a match we would be ok.

Im not gonna rat on about Carson, he was unlucky. Robinson is experienced and he has been dropping clangers all through the year. As soon as we equalised Mclaren was seen on the touchline telling them to drop back. What a fucking moron, his whole regime has been ran on luck and for some reason even when we were gifted an opportunity that we should not have been given he still managed to find a way to get us knocked out.

I want to see the manager going ape shit on the sideline when its not going right, not just when we score a goal. Changes need to be made all across the squad tbh. Get rid of the dead wood defoe upfront, start given the under 21 lads a chance because they actually care about it.

I was gutted for Barry, highest assists in the last 3 games and he gets punished because Mclown wants to keep fat fuck happy.

Here we go again, same old English FA cycle.

1. Manager cocks up, fans demand his resignation
2. Appoint well known but overpaid person to take the job or less well known person who's cheap.
3. Fans celebrate how amazing their team will now be thanks to the FA.
4. Wait 1 - 2 years.
5. Goto 1.

Why o why in the most important crunch game for ages do you decide to try out a complete rookie goalkeeper - now both team and the unfortunate rookie are f*cked!!!

In fairness Gerrard does do a lot for charity.

Anyway, crap display all in all, but its not about one game we have been dire throughout. We seem to go from one set of piss poor tactics to another, just when it looks as though we could scrape through with a safe 442 he goes and changes it yet again.

I hope he never works in football again.

How the hell can some of you people sit there and blame the manager?

He didn't put a foot wrong apart from maybe the formation, lets look at what went wrong?

Back four ? TERRIBLE need i say more?

Midfield? Gerrard was fucking AWFUL lampard wasn't much better

Strikers? Crouch was awsome and always has been and i cannot wait to see him stick 2 fingers up to Liverpool for fucking him over.

The manager was not to blame today it was the players the manager can stand on the touch line shouting all he likes but if the players don't have the mental strength to cope under pressure then thats not the managers fault.

The last thing the players need right now is yet another bloody manager coming in and shaking things up.

Mourinho while he is an awsome club manager would not be a great international manager because an international job is very different from club management.

So the manager didn't choose a n00b goalkeeper and the manager didn't choose the formation and tactics?

Is that what you are saying, are you saying the players made those choices?

The players at international level should be able to play in a formation the manager selects.

The players did not perform to the standard of a pub team.

End of story.

I couldn't agree more, yes you can blame managers for certain things but not a players inability to play football....last nights game was just a disgrace.

Shit tactics, shit player selection then hid under an umbrella when he got a bit wet when he should be giving them a roasting from the touch line, yeah fantastic management skills.

The manager is responsible for everything in the team, training, selection, tactics. When a team plays so awfully you can only look at the training and team selection. Mcclaren takes his half of the blame for not actually being able to manage, the players themselves have not performed across the qualifying campaign. We play way to many average players and think they are great.

The majority of English supporters are twats, we cannot support the team, and we wonder why the players play with no passion when they get singled out for boos?

Not getting to the euros is a good thing, wake up call time. Hopefully we will get a mentally tough manager in that is not afraid of shaking things up. I only feel sorry for the players that do consistently give their all for England and are now going to miss out, unfortunately most of them have been injured at the wrong time and have had to rely on their colleagues. I'm talking about Rooney, Terry, Ferdinand, Hargreaves.

No the player should be able to play in a system they have been trained in, they should have been coached in what is expected of them. This was clearly not done, as they looked confused on the pitch. Compare it to the confident, assured way the croats played. Down to the fact they play the same system and know what is expected of them. Mcclaren has been more erratic as england manager than he was at boro.

The problem I have with Mclaren is his inability to just tell the truth. He is always fudging around the question with the same old shit about pride, and ambition and how the players are ready to perform.

Yes the players play a big part in the down fall, the last 3 games we won with 4-4-2 of course we were unlucky in russia.

Lampard does not know here to be when there is just Gerrard next to him, he was more lost last night with Barry and Joe (I prefer to come inside) cole.

The problem is the players have not really been given instructions and they all seem to think that someone else is going to do their job.

You need a leader with passion, who will instill a sense of pride and purpose in the players. He had a shit record at Boro, he may well be a good coach, he worked under Fergie for long enough, but so did Brian Kidd. You still need a manager to make decision and kick the players up the butt.

With the wages they are all payed they are scared to have a go at each other on the pitch because it might affect their social circle.

McClaren should never have been put in charge in the first place, all those idiots going on about how we needed an english manager in the role because Sven didn't seem to care, well look where picking a manager not based on ability and success but on his nationality has gotten us :(

Meh... it'd be harder to buy the european/world cup than the league tbh.

As for Mclaren, he choked. He has to go, but I doubt any of you would do any better.

More importantly is could I have done any worse?

Everyone thinks they can manage a football team, of course its a pipe dream. Atleast have someone in charge that cares little about how much the players he is working with, make in a week.

The players have to much power.
