If you think England weren't good, did you see Sweden v T&T? My god that was a dog's dinner of a game, Sweden were hopeless. Germany were better, but not that great - Costa Rica just gave them plenty of room to move around and never marked up properly.

On a regular match those chances result in 2-0, 3-0.. Think both games in that group was lollerskates compared to for example Argentina - Ivory Coast.
1-0 win for Swe vs Paraguay should be enough to move on.

Agreed Sweden battered T & T in fairness and on another day that performance would have gave a comfortable win.

I think what people forget is that we always play shit in our first match of a world cup.

Perspective: We've got 3 points on the board and if we win our next game and the other match is a draw then we'll finish top of the group with a game in hand!

They say that most players lost between 5 and 11 pounds that match - and bad Rooney gambling jokes aside that's a fuck of a lot. It was 28 degrees in work today and I was knackered just sitting on my arse doing nothing.

The biggest problem IMHO that England have is accomodating Gerrard in an attacking role. Anything else is a compromise of his talents (hence him never performing for England the way he does for Liverpool).

Win it? It's a possibility. Play better? Definately. Starting next match.

I have an Italian father and an English mother so I get to choose which of the 2 teams I would support. Tonight I will see how Italy play, which should be better than England.

As for MANU, sodoff. Always been Chelsea :)

Italy were good, but they were lucky too, they got away with two clear penalties...

Yes, i liked the Italians - deffo my fav after England. Lucky not to get penalties awarded; but Ghana put up a bit of a fight, held possession but never really threatened.

The Italians were a different class.

Ghana just lacked the strikers that took chances. Their attacking movement from midfield and the fullbacks was suberb to watch.

Aye Chet, the Czechs have looked the best so far, although Italy looked good going forward, if Ghana could shoot straight it would have been a much closer contest. Pity about Koller for the Czechs though :(

Argentina vs Ivory Coast best game so far imo together with Italy vs Ghana. Fun to see different playstyles executed good. Put Drogba with Ghanas midfield and it would be a contender.

Dont get why they have to play 4-5-1. Ok if both Makelele and Viera want a defensive midfielder spot but still waste of players. And Wiltord ....wtf, was he even on the pitch.
