Well the games under way and I doubt we will see the amount of goals we did against Germany. England only manage a thrashing like that once in a blue moon and germany were playing pretty badly. Should be a comfy win by the looks though.

I thought England were poor last night. Ok in the first half but failed to take chances, which in a World cup we cannot afford to do.

The second half was like watching a group of kids kick a football around in the park, bar the single goal.

A lot of people have got far too excited about the Germay performance, at the end of the day, we're still a very very average side. Maybe at the next world cup when the current team really matures we might stand a slightly better chance.

I would like to see McManaman start a game because I do think it's harder to get into a game at such a late stage. I do think Barnby is a really solid player, but, McManaman is one of the few players we have in the side who can REALLY dribble round, and run at people. Admitedly he's done nothing yet, but he's one of those players I'd like to have on the pitch for those odd pieces of magic he can come out with.
