Over the moon that they have gone through, they had a hard group, but if they dont pull there socks up I cant see them progressing much further.

So sad the soap dodging frenchies and the cheating Argies are out. They'll be crying into there onions in Paris tonight :))

Disgusted that they played for the draw to be honest. We deserved better than that.

On the plus side, we're through and there are no more draws to play for. I mean, come on, Eriksson can't be naive enough to play for penalties....

I think the fact that it was 94° in the stadium might have had an effect on their performance.

Yeah, but it was still no way to play. I mean, Eriksson did the same thing as in the Sweden game. He could just have brought on fresh legs earlier on and kept us playing.
I'm not convinced.

Anyhow, all done now until Saturday.

And, while Denmark will be tough, if we get through we get the spectacle of Brazil - which will at least be a very, very good game to watch.
As has been commented on these boards before, we do play better against the big teams.
... Denmark will be tough.

On the contrary, towards the end it was Nigeria forcing a draw, England made plenty of chances and had a few near misses, we didn't screw up and both sides made minor errors, England replaced both strikers in the second half, hardly a tactic for a draw.

In all it was a pleasant game to watch with hardly any fouls and no bookings and fair play on both sides, beats watching our players getting cut up by nasty football any day.

I don't think there's any harm in wanting the team to play better?

Yes, disgusted was an overstatement. I've had my cocoa and I'll go back to school in a minute....

I normally get up at about 3pm, so a 7am start is quite challenging (I considered not going to bed but that would be ridiculous :) ). Would have liked England to play a little better but I'm happy we're through to the next round (and argentina aren't) \o/

lol thats good

but i was told in college, that if we did play Senegal, it would have been a much tougher game, because over ni Japan it would have been the Afternoon kick off, and the heat over there would be immense at that time, and Senegal are use to that sort of Heat, unlike England. So my predicition for the Swden vs. Senegal would be that Senegal would win 2-1.

As for the England vs. Denmark Game, that will be played at night, so it will be cooler, but still pretty hot, but neither England ot Denmark are use to really hot weather, so we could expect a slower type of game (Like England vs. Sweden).

I would think England would pip the win, and have a superb game against Brazil

Is it just me or does the Argentinian footy team have way too much hair?

Made me feel good to see them cry. I shall enjoy watching the news for the Argentinian public response.

You might beat Denmark, but you'll get humped by Brazil.

My prediction is a Brazil - Italy final, with probably Italy taking it, just.
