Enemy names and their colours

Was out and about last night when a guy came running up to me with a yellow name above his head. Now I thought that all enemies are supposed to be red, so I held fire and he killed me. As he ran past I could clearly see he had on VS armour (I am NC).

So, whats up there? Anyone else have this problem?

Well things are yellow under your crosshair if they are out of range of your currently held weapon, then once it's in range it turns red or green dependant on if it's friend/foe.

That's why i always use my sniper rifle to identify reavers and the like at long range.

But if he was close enough for you to see his name...no idea, maybe lag or something

Squad members have yellow names. Maybe your client thought he was in your squad? Sounds like a bug though.

Acually. At one point last night when i ran my crosshair over my own empire it came up red. I wish i had taken a screenie now . And i could even lock onto my own vehicles with my striker. it only lasted about 2 minutes then it cured itself. Was pretty freaky though.

Maybe it was dev's pissing around with pre patch shiet.
