Recently I've seen someone suggesting to remove buff bots on the IGN forums, after which he got terribly flamed for his idiocy.

Heared nothing else about it (and I check out quite a lot of forums/news sites), so I don't think we'll see buff bots go anytime soon ...

PS Lonewolf : state your sources, if you can't back up such a story, I fear it is just another unfounded rumour.

These are just vague rumours spread by some whiner prolly on a gimped class board. All it would do is create more hassle for clerics while there's only about 10 players with buffbots in a realm of more than thousand players.

If they can eliminate buffbots (of the sit in the PK kind and get your buffs in Sauvage/wherever type) without screwing over the real players then I'd be all for it...

Got my second account today - not to create a buffbot, but so I can make EVEN MORE ALTS! MUHUAHUAHUHAUHA!

Nothing is stopping me from hitting 50 (heck, 40) more than my amazing ability to play alts :)

If they removebuffbots, Albion will have very few clerics left. Mythic/GOA will also lose the buffbots-accounts = less income

But i do agree, assassins wouldnt be that "mighty" without buffbots. What about a range, say 3000-5000?

Nothing has been officially stated about buffbots, Lonewolf has either been misinformated or his wife is Sanya Thomas ;)

Sorry but I did state it was rumours not facts to all the people who think I am stating facts :rolleyes:

Oh and with a buffbot I have 1500+ hp's

250+ Str
310+ Dex
230+ Qui
200+ Con

And my weapon skill rises upto 1200+

Nasty very very nasty!

lol so ur saying haveing 2 accts is cheating.. arf.. !

I'm gonna but another copy (at my expense) and pay for it each month (at my expense) so i don't see what the problem is really.

why should mythic/GOA care if 1 person has 2 accts if they are both being payed for.

I think they do change to cleric resistance buffs to group castable spells on 10 minuite timers a la Wizz/Theurg earth buffs.

However it would be a real pain making them all on timers. Range would work, provided people regained the buff when they got back in range like with PBT or speed/power song.

Are buf bots really that much of a problem anyway? surely only very few people have the time/resources to have one?

I seem to remeber reading (moooonths ago) on a Q&A with Mythic somewhere (like I said months ago so can't remeber where) that mythic had toyed with the idea of making cleric (and other enhancement classes) buffs on a timer. However they had decided not to do this and were now toying with the idea of making them ranged (at least 3 x the range of all other buffs). Personally, I think they're only saying this to pacify some people who were bitching. I doubt they will ever do this, or at least not in the near (or ever fairly near) future. They're to busy nerfing everything ele do to people bitching about other classes. Like I said this was months ago...when I first got DAoC, so like 5 or so months ago.

i ll try n make a log too with some names in it and cut out the important parts like : u accusing me of having a buffbot since i started playin daoc ?


ive just started using it few weeks ago cuz i got keeld by korv one times too many


and does it matter what lvl ur buffbot is ?
buffs are buffs , u started one , u re still a hypocrit :sleeping:

since some people started some and i cant be arsed dying to buffed people all the time , yes i made one , shoot me (if u dare)
