End of Buffbots thankgod

Just to let people know if they don't already I have heard rumours from across the pond that to prevent the buff bot syndrome which seems to be killing fairness in DAoC(Not my words just the general consensus people have adopted)

Ok Mythic are toying with the idea of making buffs distance dependent like PBT or minstrel speed, so you can only get the true power of them if you are within distance of your Cleric in the group of not group as the case maybe

This is just information, not a flame, not an opinion, not anything just relaying some information I heard

Out of interest where did you here this rumour, because there is nothing on the herald, and nothing official on the Vault boards - while there are plenty of people *asking* for this, not seen anything that suggests it's actually going to happen though.

That said, it's probably a good idea.

Won't completely stop buff bots though - they'll just be /stick 'ed instead.

sorry to say it, but I dont think implementing this will be top of Mystics hit list..... Tbh they must luv the idea of people being sad enough to pay for 2 accounts (its more money to them), just so they have an unfair advantage in RVR.....

anyone that uses a buffbot is a bit sad...

Anyone who thinks buffbots are a necessary feature of their realm is getting a bit carried away ..

There's a reason these classes have these buffs > play them, might surprise you how useful a healer can be in the battlefield..

Let's assume it's true, what would be a good range for buffs ?
u would need to find a range that allows normal rvr, but short enough to prevent a TK buffbots.

I don't know the answer, but i do know a lot of upport buffing classes will be pissed bigtime if they make it to short.
I mean how often are u group rvring and u loose a member or u get split up in a big fight? How many times were u standing at amg while the rest of the group was still at the albion Tk in emain..

They would need to make it so the server remembers buffs when u re-enter range. Encouraging ppl to stay with the grp isnt a bad thing anyway (least in alb).
