Enchanter Questions

Hi

I've only been playing a week and I have a few questions.

I'm planning on going the mana route, I've read a few specs and the most common seems to be 48 mana 24 light 8 enchantment so I think I'll try that.

When I was doing lvls 1-5 I actually put points into skills before I was an enchanter does that matter? Is it going to gimp me in some way?

Also, what lvl can I enter the BGas I'm dying to get some PvP action (main reason I bought the game was for PvP server)

As I'm at lvl 10 now should I be looking for a group even though I'm doing pretty well taking down yellow and orange wolves, badgers and little, annoying men (forgot name).

What equipment should I be looking for, I currently wear grey con gloves, hat and cloak and a +1 constitution ring.

Thanks

Hi, and welcome to DAOC :)

You seem to be doing quite well on your own mate, and you have chosen the most group friendly route IMHO at the moment.

Putting points into skills before level 5 shouldnt make a difference, I usually put some points into light so I can get to lvl 5 a little easier and dont usually have any problems after level 5 :)

Your equipment would ideally need to con yellow or orange, but doesnt matter armour wise unless you plan on getting hit ;)

Your staff matters in the fact that better staff helps with your spell casting in some way (someone will tell you and me why I imagine) but it will help :)

Oh and first BG is level 20 .

Good luck, and have fun :)

Yeh someone gave me a yellow con staff after I /released after dying which cheered me up a bit :) - the staff adds 10 to int and 10 to something else. How do I tell a staff has (magical?) properties by looking at it as when I right click it just tells me the dps, qual etc.?

If you do Shift and I once you have right clicked on the item, it brings up another box and that shows you the information for the item :)

staffs

the focus on a staff will affect how much mana u use when u cast a spell

if u cast a spell with a lower lvl than the focus for that spec line on the staff u're using it will use very little mana, nevermind the additions to stats u get with higher lvl staffs :)

yes you should look for groups.. they give u the best experience, and they're the most fun (solo-ing sucks ass!)

if u cant find one, start one yourself - do a /who <lvl's close to you> and bug any1 u find there if they wanna join.. it's a mission, but when u get it right, the rewards are well worth it :)

as a chanter, i guess u should look for equipment that gives u +dex, +int or +pow mainly.. i cant think of any offhand tho for your lvl.. the con of your armour isnt that important since u shouldnt be getting hit :p
