Sad thing about people who go around pointing out steriotypes that dont really exist is that they are the ones who dont know who they are![]()

Love the picture, but besides that, being depressed hasn't got anything to do with the economical situation you're in. It has to do with chemical imbalance in your body, low self-esteem or a continuous stress about certain stuff.Cirandi said:![]()
I agree with Gamahs original point... Amazed that kids in the western world can't see how goddamn priviliged they are and be happy. It's a really weird thing that soem people has to search for things to QQ irl for.
[edit] Ding 100 posts in the thread!
Despite what the stereotype dictates, there is actually no correlation between being emo, and the chance of comitting suicide.Cirandi said:My point is that it's hip to be depressed in the emo scene, so it feels like even if your'e not particularily sad about anything you still have to have something to not be left out... And that is a really weird thing.
Ofc i agree that depression isn't something that happens only to emo kids, it can occur even if the "reason" for depression is something totally abstract you don't even have to be aware of yourself.
The emo community has to slit their wrists for some reason because it's fashionable, so if you don't have a reason your'e free to make one up, instead of doing something to actually improve your situation or the world (i.e. do some volunteer work instead of posting on myspace.).

That is, if they are actually practicing selfmutilation, or rather, if they are practicing it more than others. Sure, they write poems that shine of self-misery and all, but that doesn't immediately mean they start cutting themselves upCirandi said:On the other hand, i don't think the emos are cutting themselves because they want to die, but more as a misguided statement of some sort. I mean, pain does actually feel good sometime and it's pretty cool to have some mark of it to show off... I guess.

Sounds pretty damn good to me, couldn't say it better myself.Ingafgrinn Macabre said:Love the picture, but besides that, being depressed hasn't got anything to do with the economical situation you're in. Saying "be happy cos there are millions who have it worse than you" doesn't help. Infact, it makes stuff worse for that one depressed, because they get that added depression of them feeling guilty about their depression.
On the side though, those so-called emo's aren't necessarily depressed or something. They just have a different attitude, dress code, taste of music etc. There are as many depressed kid's in other scenes.
