HI all,
this is for [DT]Karma as well, though I'll just say I agree with HokutoTC's thread about flag holding. Right, Karma, how can you come on the board and make out that you thrashed LTS in the middle of another thread where the facts aren't known publically. I admit that the scoreline shows we were beaten badly, but your post gives the wrong impression of the game and shows some of the big-headedness described in this forum. It may well have been a joke but one that only DT and LTS players would ever understand. The fact is that 4 if not 5 of our best players were missing last night and 3 of those playing hadn't played in weeks. This is not an excuse for loosing because it's no-one's fault but our own. It is, however, something that brings a new light on you comment. When we beat you 12-6 on Stonehenge in the WPTL I don't recall our members running onto the messageboards shouting "HAHA, we just thrashed DT" because a)we're here for fun and don't want to boast because we know we're a new tribe, and b)the second map played was a draw so it wouldn't be fair to say we thrashed you overall.
I have no hard feelings towards you or DT as a whole, I just wish people could forget their need for self-glory for a while and let people see the full picture. Right, rant over; everyone feel free to have a go at me now

I think what most people had issue with (and certainly what I had issue with) is that 4 EM players transferred to EM2 and probably wouldn't have done had McM still be around for them to have to play tonight - hence my plan to restart McM

This and the attitude some of them showed after the game, effectively saying they let DS win is hardly respectful and as far as I'm concerned gave all DS members a right to be upset...

Fair enough, DS *may* have cause to be upset about some things, but once again it degenerated into a 'everyone slag off EM' -- including people who don't even PLAY the damn game.. you don't see me storming onto a Quake channel and slagging off the tactics used by one clan against another, and you CERTAINLY don't see me accusing people I don't even know on an open channel - on things they haven't the first clue about.

Anyway, I hope this matter is now closed, long live the ETL! (and UKTL Season 3)

Trebz and Ereb are both Tribes players. They play for DS. Ereb has been a member for 18 months and Trebz since the start of this season. Although I would have preferred them not to have made the comments you have said they made(if they did), they did have a right to comment as they were involved in the affair. They presumably expected the EM leadership to know that 4 players had quit that night.

To correct Brit, EM did indeed not break written rules but likewise their behaviour wasn't decent or friendly. There are no rules to say you should act in a fair or friendly manner in life, its just considered to be the right thing to do. Try not to be so obsessed with rules and try to see that we should be working towards keeping this a friendly society.

We made no formal complaints about the player swapping beyond my initial comments about it being morally wrong. My only complaints are the boasts that EM2 threw the match and let us win it. That sucked and was again not a decent way to behave.

Right, here goes:
DS I apologise for my comments after the match.
They were made entirely in jest and I was completely unaware of the low morale of the DS troops.
And also I did not realise quite what KoS did with the flag. Being in defence I never saw any of it.
I for one did not want to give the flag back, I had defended the flagman for 20 mins and then through absolute blind luck managed to get it back into our base when it was returned because you managed to kill our flagman (he was in our base i think this time - or perhaps not, it matters not).

Parsely : interesting, because after Ereb had expounded about half an hours worth of absolute meaningless and ill founded drivel, I asked him if he was in DS. His reply ? 'No, I'm not, so stfu'. Don't believe me? Check the IRC log from the UKTL channel last night. As for Trebz ? As I said, I've seen him playing Tribes barely a handful of Tribes. Between them, they made more assumptions and misguided jumps of logic than even Richard Nixon could lay claim to.

I was NOT involved in the planning, training, or execution of the EM2/DS match last night. The first I heard of it was when I jumped onto IRC and say Ereb delivering one of his crude and incorrect comments. half an hour later, I managed to get some answers out of people, and inbetween the channel being moderated (probably a good thing) got to the crux of the matter.

I'm taking issue with this simply because I'm sick of all the crap that people direct at EM, and usually (inevitably) myself (although very few people have the guts to actually call it like it is, face to face). People who I don't know, have never played with, seemingly assume they are in possesion of all facts, and run off at the mouth like there is no tommorrow. Why, its only in the last few weeks that you lot finally got round to accepting that wow, no, Brit doesn't make any money from Tribesplayers.co.uk

The fact is that DS have internal issues which need resolving. TD, HH, DS - all Tribes which were right at the pinnacle of the UKTL tree last season have suddenly found that its not an easy ride anymore, and it would appear that plenty of people don't like losing. If its the taking part that counts, and not the winning, then there are a LOT of hypocrites using this board.

The UK has a small Tribes community, and its issues like this which threaten to engulf it completely. People seem to actively pursue avenues of action which they KNOW will cause problems, regardless of the consequences. They don't think before they speak (and I'm talking about EM here as well) and all of a sudden, people are once again taking sides.

pure and simple, we just wanted a game.

It was EM2's last match. I'm sure that if McM had still been around EM1 players wouldnt have transferred but as was the case, they were available and we took them. Nobody likes a walkover. As i said, we just wanted a decent game.

Its just a shame that there are some vocal elements in our tribe, they may have said some things, but it wasnt in any seriousness.

Hmmm a small point.

Im not a great tribes player.... i.e i need practise. There are only a few servers on which to practice, with any results coming back my way.

Now, i normally play Q2 for a LMCTF clan called [DBP]. [EM]QuikSilver is a good m8 of mine also.

But i am finding it more and more infuriating at the suposed ammount of tactics. Ok yes you hide/protect the flag carrier, but to the point of lamness? Whats the point of hiding out of sensor reach, by the edge of the map??

Just ruin's it. The laser rifle. I get so angry on public servers, Tagged players just sit 1.5 KM away from the base, out side the mission area and just snipe. Where is the fun in that? ok if its a tactical thing, where the flag has been taken and you set yourself up on a ridge simply to snipe the flag carrier, then fine.

It just doesnt make it enjoyable anymore. quite frankly, i think my phone bill money would be better spent downloading Porn... at least i would get more enjoyment out of it.
