Edmond and myself are going to see Elbow next week.

Yay.

I seem to recall some Freddies saying that they liked the band?

Anyone seen them live? What did you think?

Got the new album. They don't appear to be doing anyting the Doves weren't doing ages ago. Found it deeply average tbh.

Their new album is not their best though.

Go get Leaders of the Free World and be amazed.

I got a good deal on their Discography from my favourite online music emporium, I shall burn that one and sample. I basically only got it cos you kept mentioning them, and I needed some new bands to get in to. Based on your other suggestions I discovered that

Pearl Jam >>>>>>> Elbow

Oh you absolute cowbag, how can I possibly argue against that

Cheap shot :D

I didn't realise you took my suggestions seriously, if so may I sneak in a little Jeff Buckley shout, Grace is still one of the best albums ever made....maybe not first listen and maybe not the second but oh god those songs creep inside your head.

Getting it in flac loveliness, I'll let you know how I get on. Leaders if the Free World was much better than the new one, was impressed. Still not as good as the Last Broadcast, but good nonetheless :)

This week I am mostly recommending Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Punk Covers >>>>>> all.

Any hoo.... Elbow was great!
Guy had a brilliant voice, not sure about the venue tho(!) but good night out and we had fun. I was a bit poorly sick so wasnt able to enjoy it 100%, but I think you did didn't you Edmond?

Oh mate that makes me so happy. The more that find Jeff Buckley the better, I think I told Leggy and Mank about him and they thought he was uber as well.

Lover You Should of Come Over is pure class.

Yay!!

Edit - Grace is his only album, they released Songs for my Sweetheart the Drunk after he died but that is a bit of mess really, maybe 2 good songs on it that you could tell Jeff finished but apart from that its demos and crap really. If you want anymore by him get the live album Mystery White Boy.
