Efficient Salvaging

Bit new to whole Salvage thingy so here my first questions:
At what lvl can u salvage DF without loss?
And at what lvl can u salvage everything (lvl 51 stuff)?

Maybe someone has some kind of table for this?

800 is the best for DF stuff though you can do it at 700 its pretty slow i think, long time since i was that "low" lvl 51 stuff its best to be 1000 metal as arcanite boxes are 10xx (forget how much, blue at 1k)

I guess you want to do hinges.. and not only salvage..

DF stuff gives asterite.. to hinge asterite you need 750 for them to turn yellow.
Best is if you have 800 then they turn grey and it will go double the speed to do hinges.

TOA/SI stuff that drops gives arcanium bars and you need 950 in metalworking before they turn yellow. At 1000 they will turn grey. To do Jewelry boxes .. (20 metal for 1 box) you want 1025 in metalworking because they will be grey then.

but lets say ive got 700+ and i start to salvage 51+ stuff or somewhat below that (only salvage so no trinketing) will I be able to salvage without materials lost or does it only affect the speed at wich I salvage?

Iirc, you will get less metal if you salvage drops which you can't craft yourself, dps-wise. Example, if you can craft (i.e. item is on your list, regardless of colour) a 15.0 dps weapon as highest, don't salvage stuff that has 15.0+ dps. And same for armour. I'd wait and get my skill higher.

General rules - for salvaging
DF drops (asterite) - 800
lvl 50 stuff (arc) - 1000

for hinging
DF drops (asterite) - 850
lvl 50 stuff (arc) - 1050

You can see this on your Metalworking tab, if the hinge is non-grey to you, don't bother to hinge, it will take much longer time to salvage.

if youre gonna salvage and hinge df loot you really want to trinket your materials to thoose gem studded jewlery boxes (at least thats the name in hib) since they take 20 materials at once instead of the normal 2 materials. I checked when the gem studded box became grey con while i lvled my metal workin and that was a 826 metal working.
