As ef 2 is getting nearer i fear the ef community is going to go I played ef since the start and i actually dont want to leave it. I met loads of good people on here and will lose touch with most
I will keep trying to play ef though and keep servers on cos its a nice little community really.

Hi Bond

I tend to agree with your comments there, especially about meeting good people. I have met some really great people since playing EF, wow 2 years now, and I would hate to lose contact with them. So I hope that people like you and me that don't want to desert EF will remain and we can keep our friendly community going for quite a while yet.

Unfortunatly I think the EF servers at Barrysworld now have a very limited lifespan purely because I feel that it must be uneconomical for BW to provide something like 12 servers that are very rarely used. This is the only reason that I didn't subscribe to the p2p, because I would be rather annoyed if I subscribed and 6 months down the line the only servers that I played on were dropped in favour of another game. Wonder how many people feel the same and whether this is the reason for the poor turnout on the BW servers these days.

And there is 1 more little kick in the pants for me, BW finally set up a CTF/Disint server and promptly go p2p. OK I think to myself I'll just go and play on the United servers. Now my silly ISP, no names I think at this stage, have decided that my connection to the United servers in Germany must now go via the USA. try to figure this out, United servers are now directly, sorta, connected to the backbone in London (Telehouse I think), I live in Central London and my connection goes via the USA . Very strange indeed me thinks, oh and yes my traceroute confirms that my connection stays within my ISP's network until it gets back to London. Round trip of approx 6,000 miles for my connection to go around 2 miles up the road. As the saying goes, you gotta laugh or you will cry.

So all I am left with these days are the Jolt servers, boooooo no disint though and also empty, The Pope of rome servers the gamehost servers and my own server. Think I will cry afterall

Well lets just hope that we can continue to post messages like this and give others a laugh and maybe also make others feel better about their own problems.

Yes it is true, I have lost contact with a couple of real nice people since they stopped playing EF. So in the end it will be only me and you and our choice of BW servers, assuming they are still around, and nobody to call us cheaters cause we keep on fragging their as**s all the time .

Firstly, yes a disint game with RD would be nice. I think we now have most of our members back from holiday so I will get Sham, our match organiser, to contact RD. I think we tried before but I don't remember it ever getting sorted out. Or was it that we got our asses well and truely kicked and my brain has blocked it out

Now for the ISP, lets play three guesses. Here are your clues

Ring tech support, beep beep beep, the number you have dialed is engaged. Please try again later.

3 Hours of the phone auto redialing, beep beep beep, bla bla bla

Email tech support, get an auto response, Ticket No: god knows what they are up to now has been forwarded. We endevour to answer all emails as soon as possible etc etc etc. 2 weeks later still no human response, no change to connection either.

They also have the most active board on the ADSLGuide forum.

Any offers on who? or did the last clue make it too easy.


I have to say though that I lost my ADSL connection tonight for about 20 minutes but when it came back up some of my connections to Germany were rather good. But Some, including United servers, still go via the USA.

I think having my cake and eating it is springing to mind

nah, LOTS of people i know/knew left EF last september, when CS and other games just peeked and got shit loads of players...

but anyways, i know a few will still go and get EF2, and if its as good as i reckon it will b, it will be a gr8 game for ages...

jolt are supporting it they have said, as are uk2... i think, lol
