So stupid that a number of drugs are illegal :(

I mean, making certain drugs illegal really causes alot of problems like getting criminals involved, the drugs might be impure and dangerous. Also you know who and how much people use therefore making it easier to combat eventual problems... Alot of people have probably gotten dragged quite a bit down because of the stuff being illegal and some might even have died (crime, impure drugs, overdoses). Theese things could easily have been prevented if it was legal, and under control.

Good or bad, legalise them anyway, get a mint in taxes and let the people decide for themselves.............life is so simple on my side of the fence.

Pills were mint when they first came on the scene about 14 years ago. £10 a pill, Doves, dollars, new yorkers. Best £10 you could of spent. School discos were bearable after dropping one of these. Id rather buy a pint than spend £2.50 on what they call "ecstasy" these days.

Hands up from those who have seen me "b*tch rant", except in a humorous way like that earlier post was, since december came? :eek7:

I could have said "This discussion is so overused that why don't we just dig up one of the old ones", but decided to have a bit of fun with it.

Like your "contribution" was so remarkable :D

i still see taking drugs as weakness in a person really. ive managed to go out and have fun while being totally sober. If someone needs to take drugs in order to sort out the flaws in their personality and allow them to have a good time? well its the easy way out imo. a stronger person would work hard to better themselves without resorting to harmful drugs.

I kinda agree that fun should come from within, not by some chemical.

Taking booze as a regular thing is the thing that might contradict me.

But, i don't drink to have fun. I can have fun without alcohol. But it makes time go by faster, that's why i take it. Sitting in a bar, talking, for 8 hours straight would be...well...boring really. Time flies when you're a bit intoxicated :D

Im not a druguser, but Im not a drughater, and I dont look down on people using marijuana cus I know alot of people who do, and I know the effects of it. I dont, however, know people using Ecstacy, so cant comment on that. And I still think Marijuana is one thing, and chemical drugs another.

But I keep asking myself, WHY havent more researches been made?
Me and a mate of mine have been talking about it quite abit, and we cant understand why, for example, a country like Canada or maybe Sweden could make a gigantic research about it. The researches that's avaiable is either several years outdated, or have been proven wrong. Is it becouse the goverment have other "needs" than the people? Becouse I really think the people need a BIG and neutral research, which you can use to then make up your own mind about it. Not some propaganda that tell you to "Just Say No", but a research with facts, but in a language a normal citizen can understand.

Maybe the goverment's is either affraid the research would turn out that it is indeed not that dangerous, and their big "Just Say No" campain would be proven useless, or either the goverments in some countries are actually afraid of countries, like the US. The US would obviously protect their own research, and try to throw as much dirt on the country who made the reasearch, if the research turned out to be quite the opposit to theirs.

It's sad such a research havent been done yet.

this is gonna be another pointless thread. There will always be 2 camps to this debate, the people who dont do anything and dont see the point in it and those who do and love it

me personally do, i dont do it cause i am shy or dont know any other way to express myself or anything like that. I do it the same way i drink, i enjoy both, i enjoy doing things that i enjoy.

I go out all the time and do neither, sometimes i feel the urge to get wankered/wasted. Not hurting anyone while doing it, not forcing it upon anyone else.

I willl continue to do both till i get fed up with it, which does happen then i go 3-6 months not diong rugs then get the urge again (damn Ibiza/Tidy Weekenders)

It also means i have a valid opinion on the sabject, one thing that gets me wound up (sorry toh about above post) is when ppl try to tell me i'm wrong and going to hell and i'm an idiot who cant express myself, when they have no idea what they are talking about, or rugs havent actually effected their lives either byt them or someone they know closely been effected. Those same ppl who only go with what the newspapers and news reports tell them.

I wouldnt (or try not to) rant about things i personally know nothing about. Spamming wikipidia doesnt count as experience and knowledge

EDIT: yes bad things happen to ppl when they get caught up in rugs, debt, illness, dying. But not all the minority shouldnt ruin for the majority. And bad things happen to ppl who gamble. I personally hate gambling with a passion, i dont do any of it not even the lottery

I think that is totally bullshit. I know for a fact that alot of people does not take it to "sort the flaws in their personality". They take it becouse they like the experience which comes with it. But I can agree I wouldnt take it becouse, in the case of ecstacy, there is not enough of researches have been made, but we do know it have something to do with the brain, "opening doors" such to say, and I wouldnt want to mix with my brain without knowing what would happend :)

And I think most people can go out and have a good time being sober, but it can depend on what people they go out with, where they go, and how they work. It's just silly to say a person who goes out to be sober is a much stronger person.

They should Legalise pot imo sell it in packs of 20 and make a fortune. They could also help poor countrys by buying it from them ;)

I think the reason for not legaising hard drugs is they would see hospital costs increase with adicts and over dosers ect.

Maybe people take drugs for the fun of it? :)

Well, overdoses usually occur because you dont know what teh hell youre taking. If it was controlled how much you bought you'd have a hard time taking an overdose unless you really wanted :>

And my theory is that there wouldnt come significantly more addicts because people who get addicted to stuff like that is are prolly already on the stuff.

I think with drugs such as Ecstasy the government would be far better off simply legalising it and controlling production/distribution.

This way they can garuntee the quality of the drug, whats in it, and make sure nothing is put in that shouldn't be there.

This would greatly increase the safety of the majority of users who would rather play safe and go to a controlled supplier rather then risk a (maybe cheaper) illegal drug dealer.

This would also give the government another possible taxable product, and we all know how they love to tax tax tax, which they can use the revenue from to help fight the far more dangerous drugs on the street, which in turn would become less popular when theres a safer, legal option availible.

If people, 21+ can go to a chemist and pay a little more to get a safer, legal drug to use at their own discretion its got to be far better then having people pay ruthless drug dealers for a drug they have no idea whats been added to it.

Im not going to go into my own experiances, but I know if I wanted to use it, i'd happily pay twice as much more then street value if it meant getting something thats garunteed to be pure, controlled and comes in a sealed bottle.

Exactly

As I said in earlier post, E's used to cost £10, over 10 years ago, because they were pure (or almost pure MDMA) and the high was 100 times better than the high you get these days (the old boys amongst us would confirm this). The reason they only cost a couple of quid these days is because there is hardly any MDMA in it.

I couldnt agree more Marc and Kagato.. And ofc, in the video they talked about the Real Ecstacy, not about the fuckedup mix of allkind of drugs you most likely is to get if you buy it on the street. And that you can, in my opinion, thank the US for, since they put a big bad BAN on it.

i guess you have no idea why most people take drugs then?

do you understand what the word "enchance" means?
(genuine question btw, you may not for all i know)

on a sidenote, why at a party do all the non-pot smokers try to fuck it up for you when youve had a joint? is it really necessary for them to ask "so your totally gone then", "your gonna puke arnt ya" and all that other shit. im sure someone here knows what i mean.

Ecstasy can be an addictive drug. For that reason alone it shouldn't be made legal.

Ofcourse, that isn't to say I support binge drinking and addiction to alcohol. But instead of making things legal and just collecting more tax, the government should aim to stop these problems once and for all.

Well, I wouldn't be suprised if some time in the future it ends up illegal as it's already beginning to become illegal to smoke in public places etc.

And to be honest, the money made through the taxing of it is huge but the difference wouldn't be so substanial if you include every single cost related to smoking - ie. healthcare, possible housing etc.
