'Fiendish' Trojan pickpockets eBay users | The Register

I think this is pretty scary...basically it's a virus that installs a local webserver and looks like it can spoof anything from auctions to private messages and notifications. Since the whole auction and transaction occur "outside" Ebay, they are not covered by their anti-fraud measures.

One to watch out for for any frequent Ebayers. I've got to admit from a technical viewpoint, it sounds very impressive. It's gonna make me a lot more careful about everything from Ebay to online banking in the future.

Would be interesting to see how they did it all. But it looks like there's another reason not to use Ebay.
