Yep its a scam. As soon as you hear Nigeria you should run a mile. You can find a pretty good info page about it all here:

eBay View About Me for redalligator1

Don't bother contacting the buyer either as this will give them your email address.

they already have it as they sent an email directly to me from their yahoo account. thanks, i will report it to them then.

Only ebay scams that I know for 100% is the nigerian ones, someone will offer to buy an item from you for more than your selling it with a sob story like "Its a present for my son that lives in nigeria" and give you a nigerian address to send it to... once you've sent it they take whatever money was paid back via paypal I asume feeding paypal some sort of lame story. If that happens to you just contact ebay and explain with a link to the thread and you don't get charged for the item post.

Dunno about germany ones tho.

Nigeria, Lagos is crime central for scams shortly followed by Mumbai, India. For Credit Card Fraud Dubai is up and comming scam central. Fake machines and even recently tampered real machines with data loggers inside!

Dunno about scams, but was looking to buy a mountain bike earlier this year and the amount for sale obviously nicked is nuts: seller with near 0 rep shifting multiple bikes, photos always taken at night up some alley wall, lot of shill bidders with near 0 rep, price starts at nothing, seller obviously knows nothing about the bike, etc).

eBay policy is not to remove stuff from auction unless reported to them as stolen by a law enforcement officer and would think the police have better things to do than follow up suspicions of buyers so seems quite a merry little trade.
