Get a guitar book, learn all the scales up the ass then jam/improv using them. For improving chords and rythms get a jazz guitar book.

nirvana (unplugged) stuff - very easy, sounds great on an acoustic.
rhcp - under the bridge, not hard and sounds amazing.

Try the lesson videos on you tube. I learnt it in 10 mins using guitar pro, but the video lessons are even easier

Depends on what type of music you want to play

powerchord style, any punk song...even better just pick four random powerchord positions and play them in a sequence with some sort of decent timing...pick four more for a chorus and you've just made a punk song ^^

Easy (multi)finger picking...nothing else matters by metallica? Stairway to heaven?

Nice songs to learn as already mentioned, under the bridge is a pretty common one, old rock in general is quite good for picking up strumming...but not really strumming styles like freebird, hotel california etc

For speed and variety, try some tenacious D in your own timing, pick up speed as you go.

Classical, try Pachelbels canon.

For general endurance, play along to any songs you can, doesn't matter if they're slow, just so long as they're pushing you and/or improving your timing.

You need to load the songs onto it. Just type in eg "Green day guitar pro tab" into google. Choose a tab, download it and then open it and press play :D
