In fact, the sub-zero temperatures this morning have sent my brain into shock I think.

I found it to be quite warm at +1C
typically tho, the train service was buggered all to heck
not that I minded as I slept all the way to amsterdam

Well, the car temperature thingie (I can't spell it, so I won't even try) said -6C.

And I didn't sleep on the way to work - that would be dangerous.

well, having finally gotten to amsterdam I found that it had been snowing quite a bit, and all the roads were iced over eep.
I expect that the usual amount of severe accidents will have happened due to idiots thinking that their leet driving skillz give their cars more grip on ice heh.
how were the roads over there?

The roads are ok, the gritters in Scotland were on the case last night, and there wasn't too much frost. Took it easy anyway, nothing will ruin your day like crashing a borrowed car (again, sorry Dad )

Well, my record is hardly outstanding, but no-one can say I haven't learned my lesson. With age comes wisdom yada yada yada.

Scotland is very keen on gritting early and often. There was black ice last night, so it was nice to have a bit of grip this morning.

as I was cycling to the station in arnhem this morning I saw the patches here and there, and in other places I could see the asfalt was frozen through and through: little ice spicules glistening in the lamplight eek

It's a fact of life up here in winter - Scotland has good drivers (Colin MacRae, David Coultard anyone?) because we deal with the worst two dangers on the road - black ice in winter, caravans in summer.

Caravans are a pain in the butt, especially pulled by Volvo drivers

Aye, running mIRC, a windrop IRC bot, ICQ, All Seeing Eye and Counterstrike really starts to eat my bandwidth. Add two more PCs, and you can see why I can't wait to get more to play with.

Might sound wierd, but get a bit of olive oil, warm it up, put a few drop into your ear, then plug your earhole up with a small wad of cotton wool.

It'll help ease the pain
