Ear Plugs for clubbing

Anyone use these?, kind of careful about my hearing since i had a bit of a scare a while ago

I am curious to what it sounds like when you are wearing them, after all if it makes the music sound crappy it kind of defeats the point

Also any recommended ones?

i wore them everytime in a club, taking photos.

It sounds the same, you can actually hear people talk easier, they mute the end scales that damage your ears, so the base doesnt kill or leave the ringing sound

Anyone in a club for long periods should wear them

You can get away with using the cheap disposables, but if you are in week in-week out i suggest getting customs made, cost a bit but if you are wearing them every week its worth it

i don't really go out all that much anymore so i cant warrant the £200 price tag for customs, but going to have a long session this weekend and am trying to avoid a shock to the system of prologued exposure to loud music all of a sudden

I was thinking of getting a pair of these;

The reviews are pretty sound far as i can tell, i regret not buying something like this when i was a student tbh but then there weren't really that many discreet solutions like nowadays ><

Go to boots / superdrugs they have cheap foam disposable ones that should do you fine.

I have worked in nightlcubs and been in all kinds of clubs etc and never used them. Ive even come out of the clubs with ear pain.

I had my hearing checked a couple of weeks ago and there is nothing wrong with it, so I do wonder if they are always needed.

well if the 'music' sounds like shit anyway it cant really get worse

It depends on the duration on a regular basis that you spend listening to loud music.

I think a lot of recent reports said 30 minutes a day of intensely loud music will damage most people's hearing.

Well I worked in clubs, and went clubbing. Working was usually 5-8 x 2-3 times a week hours and clubbing fuck knows, longer than 30 minutes though.

As I say, there is nothing wrong with my hearing according to a recent medical so as I say I wonder if plusg are always needed.

Youve never went to Hard House clubbing then. I've done my ear in cause the speakers were too loud a couple of times

I go to a lot of concerts and made it a point to always wear ear protection after I wrecked my right eat and mildly wrecked my left ear with general clubbing. While foam is fine, I find that it tends to filter out a lot more than the harsh frequencies and so am saving up for a pair of custom made acoustic filters.

I bought some really good earplugs like two years ago for a music festival. I'm not too sure, but I think I payed 80€ for them. They reduce the noise by 15db which is enough - according to a fellow ENT doctor - to protect the ears from being harmed.

The sound is - amazingly enough - even better than without earplugs, because my earplugs have an integrated filter. The bass is less disturbing and guitars sound much better as well.

What I can not advise are the cheapass earplugs you get at every festival for free or for like 10 cent

Tbh I'd rather not go at all then and save the money =) I think it's kinda bad to go somewhere for the music and the not being able to enjoy it. If it's just for a nice night out with some friends I'd rather go to the local pub and have a beer there =)

I was in clubs every weekend for 10 years, i cant even walk in the door of one anymore

i think i will go half way and get the ER-20's
they are under £10 so its not really that much to waste and they seem better engineered than the disposable ones in boots
