EA Purchases Pandemic & BioWare - Voodoo Extreme


Those motherfuckers buy up every decent independent developer and end up killing the brand plus the development teams within 3 years. It is a fucking tragedy, no other way to describe it.

Oh for gods sake. Honestly. EA have an awfull track record of buying / absorbing good developers. The best thing they can do is just stay the hell out of Bioware's hair and let them get on with what they've been doing for the last 10 years - making awesome computer games.

EA do good games too, alot.
EA isn't as big as a "just cash cow" as some anti-xx people say.
Sure they got SOME mishaps, but all do. Only difference is, EAs mishaps don't kill them.

Just before the release of the godly Orange Box, I watched the HD trailer for it (which also served as a TV commercial in the US).

Bit of a shock when the first thing, in orange colours, was EA's logo.
I paniced and immediately researched into the matter, and found a little solice in finding out EA were only paid to distribute.

But time will tell :|

Thats not new. EA have been distributing HL2 since just after its original release.

Since the majority of folks bought it via Steam its pretty much a nonissue.

I still associate EA with Pitstop 2 and Impossible Mission for the C64, so they're allright in my book

In those days EA were only the publisher Tom. Sadly their megalomanical tendencies started early, they started buying up developers, and it turned into the clusterfuck it is today: guaranteed to suck the creativity out of anything, replacing it with annual production line sequels.

So many games released with massive potential and massive promised that were just underworked and rushed out the door. A lot of their marketing basically lies to the consumer and fools him into buying their crap..

Sigh.

RIP Bioware. I hope they're just left to do their job and not interfered with.. that's what any sane company would do..

They certainly challenged my patience with Battlfield 2!! The user interface for selecting servers in multiplayer was the worst I have ever experienced!

And the game was incredibly buggy...

Can't say I have been impressed with EA
