BioWare is one of the biggest founders of modern computer RPG's as we know it.

Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and so on.

Gladly we have your suicide-song thread going, makes it easier to pick a nice one :p

I hope Baldur's Gate 3 will be as good as BG 1+2....else it's gonna hurt hard :(

Well here we go, time for 4 more sequels to franchises which should be left as they are.

Overzealous budgets with too much "wow shiny" instead of actual game play, the list goes on.

EA Games - Bastardise everything.

Alot of magazines have been mentioning how EA are nolonger in it solely for the money. By this they mean you'll still get the Fifa/NHL/NFL/cricket/F1 junk every year, but they'll be pumping money into games so that they can actually make them good to play.

I can only assume as they have bought up all the designers/coders etc etc, they can throw money at them and say "make a kickass game pls".

I take this info with a pinch of salt, but i'm sure someone round here can find some games EA own that are pretty good.

....not even gonna go there.

*whacks a few anti-EA fanbois into the corner with the xbox fanatics, wii wankers and the rest of "this is crap 'cause it has labelz!" crew*

Seriously!

EA has brought some quality gaming into the market, and most likely, this business wouldn't be as near as good/funded if it wasn't for the likes of EA.

Just because they DO release franchise games and sequel games(Which sell like hell on wheels, ipso facto, they ARE good), doesn't mean they are "just crap money cowz!"

lol, yeah right. that will be the day hell freezes over.

sure, EA CAN make good games (atleast once every 10 years), but whenever they do make one, they also make 30+ sequels and/or expansions for it turning a once great game into just another fucking EA cash cow.

and they will never EVER change from that.

and ppl will keep buying their "new and improved" FIFA 4098 or F1 with Schumacher's great great great great great great great great great great grand son's pet parrot...

yeah they have, and at the same time totally fuck them up with all the expansions/followups....

thats the problem we have with EA, they don't fucking know when to stop.

no? look at sims/sims2 for example, thats not a cash cow? or the NFS series, the first 3 games were good, the last is quite good to (knock on wood), everything in between is pure cash cows with little to nothing that tells them apart.

But just because people, millions of people, buy FIFA 3856 and F1-Maximed 2012, doesn't make them crap games(actually quite good games), or EA a crap cash cow(you'd sell stuff too if people buy it).

Those games have a market, many people like those games and as such, wouldn't you bring out that to people?

Also with those "stupid cash cow" games, they can produce other games that you like.

But people who claim "EA bought this, now they are down the crapper", are just being as bad as hardcore fanbois.

yeah they have, and at the same time totally fuck them up with all the expansions/followups....

thats the problem we have with EA, they don't fucking know when to stop.

And sometimes they know, and sometimes the sequels work.

Like with Need for speed, Battlefield...works like wonder.

It would be the same f*cking thing with any company. When you produce SO much, the amount of good games doesn't change, but the amount of games in general and the % that an individual player likes of THOSE games does change.

That's kinda before my time, I only managed to play the addon "Dark Age of Lag-Alot" and their sequel "Dark Age of Castalot".

The Open Transit expansion, boy was that a good thing!

I bought alot of Bioware games, I liked them alot. I don't particularly mind EA if they are a 3rd party to the software which usually they are. At least their marketing works, unlike Mythic/Goa (no offence but true :( )
