So, i jumped on this bandwagon last October, lasted until Christmas and then fell off said bandwagon, have flirted with them on and off since but after a pretty nasty bout of ebola (man flu) last week, i have been back on them and just ordered a new mod which should turn up in the next few days.

Have noticed the real explosion since October last year though, now you see so many people with these, puffing away.

Does any of the Freddyshouse crew partake in the E Cig craze or have any thoughts or opinions on it?

Think it's pretty retarded tbh. It's *probably* safer than smoking - but we just don't know because we've no evidence. Tends to be a lot more nicotine in them apparently, but that's by the by. It's what other untested chems they've got in them that matter. If I was a smoker I'd probably take a punt however. You're already playing russian roulette with your health so why the fuck not eh?

What does piss me off about "vapers" is that they now start vaping up next to me in the pub. I *really* hate the stench and the fact that the secondary smoking thing may still be an issue (no evidence) I think they should be treated as normal cigs.

It reminded me how much better pubs are now that smokers have to fuck off outside to indulge their addiction...

See loads of them on the streets of London. They look slightly weird - like miniature hookahs. Steampunk ciggies.

Started a couple of weeks ago. Don't really understand it yet but the shop sold me a fairly chunky mod and atomiser and Earth Brother liquid. It's OK but have ordered a Back Note selection box. Don't see the appeal in sweet flavours.

I am using one for the most part - still have the odd cig. especially when drinking.

I find most of them don't actually taste of anything past the first few drags, except mint which is horrible, and the tobacco flavours just tasted like ashtray.

I have tried all sorts of combinations of battery, atomiser and juice, most make me choke like a first time pornstar but found juices with propylene glycerol work for me, the veg stuff has me coughing up a lung in seconds.

I get my juices from http://www.socialiteszero.com/ got my eye on a hefty battery from there, £50 though.

Top tip for any beginners, always have a spare battery, they tend to just die suddenly.

Started vaping back in late 2011, went from a standard bat/cartomiser through to many mods over the years. Best was the ScrewDriver 2, took a readily available battery and had 910 and 510 fittings available to it. Some ego and variable voltage kits.

After about 6 months or so I started to mix my own ELiquids. Totally Wicked has a great selection to get you started if you ever want to go down this route. This gave me a chance to reduce the Nicotine content and my liquids. I eventually reduced it down to zero% and then began to stop carrying the ECig round with me when I went out.

It is now late 2015, I no longer use the ECig and haven't done so in 4 months, in fact I no longer smoke at all. Sometimes I miss it but most of the time I don't even think about it. Weird thing is, as i was on it for some time, I don't missing the smoking, I miss the ECig it's self. Mad. Anyway after 4 years I can offer this advice.

1, Stick with it, in the beginning it's easier to go back to a Cigarette as that's what the nicotine addiction is associated with, give it time and the ECig will be what you crave.

2, Mix your own ELiquids. This can save you a lot of cash and you get the flavours you want, buy in bulk, mix and store. Not meet an ELiquid that would not easily last 12 months. Things do change over that time, flavours mature, liquid will darken, some breakdown of the nicotine(very small, strength will be reduced slightly). Dilutants, use 70/30 PG/VG mix and mix down to 50/50 over time. I'll throw over some links at the end.

3, Lastly Enjoy it. If you don't, your wasting your time. Don't do it to quit, I never had that mind set when I started, I didn't want to quit or save money or save the planet or some other bollocks noble cause. I did it because I wanted to smoke an ECig, that was it. If you do it and quit in a few years, good. If you do it and don't quit in a few years, so what. Don't set your self any targets except switching to the ECig.

The words here are my own opinions and observations over nearly 4 years of use. There are not a defacto guide for quitting smoking or saving the planet. If they help anyone, then am sorry, that was not my intention :) No you may not have the X amount of life back it took you to read.

http://decadentvapours.com/product-category/connoisseur-range/diluent/ PG vs VG vs AG vs PEG (100ml of PG + 100ml of PG/VG 50/50 = 200ml of PG/VG 75/25. Good base to start)

Happy Vaping.

AG = Throat hit, feels like you're smoking.
VG = Vapor or smoke, looks like you're smoking. Also More VG makes the vaping smoother, if you find it harsh on your throat, add VG.
AG = VG diluted with distilled water. It's not as thick as straight VG, can be used as the sole dilutent. Not something i've tried.
PEG = Has it's own flavour and kind of sweet, dry taste. Didn't like it myself, others might.

Unquantifiable health risks for no psychadelic experience?

If you're gonna do a drug, take a neurotoxin that does something other than make you grouchy yet hungry for more.

I don't get grouchy when I haven't had a cig, I just get really unorganised.

That's a reason to quit right there. No cig = disorganised? Wow :eek7:

At least if you're drunk and disorganised you're getting something out of it :)

Absolutely not. Like any smoker, you suffer from being overly defensive when someone points out facts about smoking.

The fact that a drug makes you disorganised in withdrawal and serves no other purpose than it's own imbibation is simply a factual reason to quit.

Whether or not you act upon that fact is entirely up to you. But don't shoot the messenger. I'm not telling you to do anything - just pointing out the facts. Not my fault you don't want to hear them.

That'll be the fear of nicotine withdrawal talking :p

Oh I do love it when people try to feel all superior over smokers when they love a good drink. No hypocrisy there whatsoever. None. At all.

Anyway I've tried a few e cigs but they haven't really been for me, they're kind of like the local beer you get on all inclusive holidays. Sure it tastes like beer, and the sensation is similar, but there's just something missing.

Also, strangely I find them far more addictive than real cigs. I can easily go for an hour or two without a cig, but with e cigs it's about 10 minutes....
