No need to auction, I'll buy it off you for a quid! :)

I like this thread with people posting good ebay stuff, I like it lots.

I may have a problem with a seller. His auction states quite clearly that electronic payment is fine, and thats how I want to pay. I can't be arsed with cheques or postal orders, its too much trouble.

He wants either of those. He won't tell me how to pay electronically.

I've told him if he doesn't tell me how to pay him via paypal (as his auction states its ok), I will report him to Ebay, and I will also not pay for the item concerned

If he gives me negative feedback, what are my chances of getting Ebay to remove it? I'm thinking pretty good, but 19 +ve and 1 -ve won't look very good.

/edit: Never mind, he lost his bottle and sent me his paypal addy :D

Ebay will not remove negative feedback. Under any circumstances.

Can't be arsed to read all 19 pages - just as a matter of interest, how do you withdraw a bid ?

There are at least two ways to get negative feedback removed.

One is to go through SafeHarbor and, with the agreement of the other party, have it removed. It does cost though not a lot.

The other, slightly risky, way is to put swear words in your response to negative feedback. Ebay will remove it then.

Of course if the neg left for you is abusive, then eBay will remove it if you report it.

Well, when a seller states that they accept paypal, and then they refuse to tell you how, and insist on a cheque, and they then give you -ve feedback when you refuse to send one, I would think Ebay would delete that feedback?

I haven't had that happen, but it came close.

Someone bought a game from me on ebay.

'Oh, I have this do you have anymore?'

I reply, 'No I don't have anymore, you are biding to buy, if you don't pay for the product i'll have to leave negative feedback'

'so, you don't have any other games?? i'd rather have negative feedback then shed out 25 pound near xmas'

I'd lower your starting price on t hat RAM, you'll only put people off buying it. Use a reserve instead.

Basically I put the minimum I'll take for it... Someone can buy it to sell on if they wanna, either way tis still a bargain and if I dont hit me reserve thats more money I owe ebay this month before I forget to pay it :D

Some advice please...

I have won this item, yesterday lunchtime.

I immediately e-mailed him and told him that I was happy to pay by cheque, but as this could take a while I would rather make an electronic transaction and put the money direct in his account.

No reply, so I e-mailed him this PM restating that I would rather pay electronically but that I'd send a cheque as soon as possible. I also said that I really want to hear from him before I send any payment at all. This is sensible, yes? I got the automated e-Bay invoice, but nothing from the guy himself. Would you all wait, or send the money?

Thanks

RB

10 days before you take action. If you live not too far away, arrange to collect.

By the way, you can get his phone number, goto 'find a member' and the link is in there.

Thanks for that Tom, good tip.

Turns out he is a she! At least so it seems.

For some reason that makes me feel better, stupid really there's got to be almost as many dodgy women out there as blokes, but there you are.

I'll give her a ring in a bit.

Finally got in touch today, her e-mail and phone number were work ones.

Ah well she seems kosher, just her first time selling and a bit unsure of herself.

Either that or I've been ripped off for £100, time will tell.
