So i bought this hair dye a week ago that seem to have gotten good reviews (the brand that is). I got brown/dark brown hair and the dye itself is dark brown/natural black. I know every dye brand is not the same, but if anyone have done this before i would be thankful if you shared your experience... before i seal my fate (maybe overly dramatic?)

I thought baldness was a mishap until I saw the annual barber bill and decided to smoke the savings instead :p

Well you never know how sensitive you are to the stuff in the dye etc. if you are unlucky you can get bad burns from it. I regret dying my hair black a few years back my hair turned more brittle from it. But only gave me another reason to start shaving and polishing my head :)

You dye your hair. It goes tits up. You shave it and grow a new one.

There's no "Oh my god it seeped into my brains!" thing there. yet...soon my zombies....

Dying your hair doesnt affect it after 1 dying.

Its when you constantly dye it that it starts to become dry, lifeless etc.

Aye, but even then, you can correct it with letting it grow back out.

Luckily dying only effects your current hair.

Also, if you want, cut out all your hair, then change your diet for a year(fibre, fruits/berries, no smoking, no alcohol, plenty of water), your hair will reflect it, you'll get a REALLY nice long hair that's strong etc and then you can piss all care about diet again with a FAAAABULOUS hair :D

Its not a dye that is permanent, it goes away after a LOT of showers etc. And i got pretty long/thick hair so it shouldn´t be any problem, only if it looks shite.

Ah well, it's gonna look sh*t no matter what, and your friends will rip at you, but after a week or so, it's normal.

First morning you won't recognize yourself in the mirror :D

Isnt it possible to put a bit on his skin, like on the arm. To test if he is sensitive to it?

cut your hair off first then put it in the dye.
after you can glue it to your head. it has the benefit of not getting dye all over your skin.

Well your scalp is normally more sensitive that lets say your arms, cause its almost always protected by your hair, while the skin on you body is exposed almost all the time, but the best place to see if you are sensitive is the groin or armpits :)

Attempt nr1 - Failed
Cause - Too little amount of hair dye applied - Exposure time too short
End Result - Hair color is roughly the same, may be liiittle darker
Conclusion - More dye, and actually let it work for 5 minutes before i rinse.

So, what is the recommended reuse timer of dye products? As i probably rinsed it out before it had time to do anything.

If your being helped, make sure the person doing it is A) NOT Bonde (Dyed or real) or B) Thick as Pig shit. One or the other is bad enough, but both is just asking for it.

Secondly, make sure you read ALL instructions and paperwork before hand. And I mean CAREFULLY! If it tells you to wait, WAIT, if it says '10 Mins' you leave it 10! And for gods sake, don't bleach your hair if your a smoker!

Also, if it screws up, don't leave it a night or try to correct it, just go to a salon. In fact, if your not confident, go to the salon anyway, the embaressment is less if your screw it up and go in for a fix-me-up.

(Been sat around watching women dye there hair to many times, its important to witness these things when they go bad (often)).

Aye, what was said above.

Don't assume anything, don't try out.

Stick the stuff in your hair fully and completely as said on the tin and leave it as said on the tin.
