gents and dolls,

I am trying to relax by playing some Civ V, but keep getting surprise buttslammed by BSOD's that involve the word dxgmms1.sys

anyone have a helpor? I'm on windows 7 HP 64b and the card's a 4780 with the latest drivers.

my gayfish poohta claims to already have the update installed

Have you tried reinstalling direct X and trying an older catalyst driver? With mafia 2 for instance, the latest catalyst driver caused issues, and people had to rollback 2 versions.

reinstall direct X as C says. I didn't realise until I installed tails of monkey island but the latest release is only a couple months old.
