So, i have just got a new monitor, and want to watch dvd's on it. However my pc didn't come with any dvd viewing software.

Does anyone know of freeware software, I downloaded some, however it only lets me watch about 20 mins of the dvd before it closes it.

Any advice would be greatly apreciated :)

PowerDVD and winDVD are the main commercial players.

They are apparently worth the cost of the licence, compared to free ones... I don't own DVDs anyway, so can't comment!

Best thing is to buy a new DVD player, or DVD writer, and get the software with it, particularly if you get a non-OEM one. Chances are you'll need a better writer anyway with the dual-layer ones coming out, some you can get for under £40 easily.
