Well, I tried to watch "Black Books" from the DVD box set and my comp wont run it, says i need a dvd decoder and after spending the last 40 mins looking for one an having to pay for them all, i'm a bit pissed about it.
Can anyone help me?

Hi Cemeterygates

I'd second VideoLan. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done. The DVD decoder also happens to be region-free, which can be quite handy.

Kind regards

Jonty

P.S. If you have access to a Vista Home Premium (or better) machine, it ships with a DVD decoder.

Hi Cemetrygates

That's curious, but some software allows the DVD decoder to be used by other programs. So for example, if your old PC came bundled with a copy of PowerDVD etc., then even if you didn't use that software, other programs (like Windows Media Player) could make sure of its codecs.

Anyway, I'm glad it's all sorted :) Happy viewing.

Kind regards
