Going to Amsterdam tomorrow the 19th with the missus for a couple of nights. Looking for info on a pub where a Rangers fan can watch the old firm game without getting abuse. The game is on Setanta so does anyone know of a pub ( non Irish would be a bonus) where I can watch the game please?

Try Leidseplein, there is a pub there called Bulldogs (big bulldog head outside there). I'm not really sure what kinda place it is, but it isnt an irish pub and also it's in a touristy area. The pub itself is accross the macdonalds at the square.

Just ask for Leidseplein (pronounce Lightse plaine. It is a square in the centre).. that info in case you ain't dutch.

I hardly ever notice any abuse going on at rugby matches in any Irish pubs in Utrecht, tho perhaps a little at footy, but still hardly worth worrying about. Then again, Amsterdam might be slightly more hostile than Utrecht, sport-wise

Hij gaf commentaar op het bericht van Milon, waarin hij zei dat het een kroeg is, waarna Muylaetrix dus zei dat het een coffeeshop is. Hij bedoelt niet dat je daar heen gaat om te blowen, maar dat Milon het fout heeft, en het geen kroeg is (waar de oorspronkelijke poster naar op zoek was), maar iets anders
Ik weet trouwens niet wie er gelijk heeft, voor zover ik weet kan het een van beiden zijn :x

Well I ended up in Coco's, an aussie bar. Had a great weekend, done the usual red light and coffee shop scene Just a pity the Gers lost and jeez even the aussie pub was full of Celtic supporters.

The entire Leische Plein is owned by 2-3 people. (And they're all criminals.) But that's besides the point - the Leische Plein might be the best place to watch the game, although I'm not sure. It's certainly the place to go for a cafe. (No idea if you're into dancing, there's plenty of places there as well.)

Just be careful you don't get mugged. It isn't the safest place of the city. You'll have to look around to get a place where you can see the Rangers. I've never heard of a place that is great on sports.
