Yep I had that. Obviously there was more talking after the text but it truly did suck.

Life goes on chum.

Nah, although I'm beginning to think perhaps the Russian bint would have been a better choice. Probably would have been a bit cheaper as well.

I just don't understand women. They say they want to be cared for and looked after, really I think more than a few are quite shallow if the truth be told. Of course the same could be said about men, but I'm not one of those.

Oh well, bollocks to it. Think I'll have to find some telly-tart to spend my money on.

By text message? That's cuntish. :/ It sounds as though she was never worth the effort Tom, and to try your best to forget her.

I see the mobile has replaced the friend as the means of conveying the bad news :( . Or in Brynns example the friends mobile :)

Hope you find a new love, I seem to remember from the dim and distant past that that was often among the best bits, :sex:

Sorry to hear that Tom

Going through a bit of chaos myself to, had a huge argument on the weekend and I've had to move back in with my parents, dunno wether to let her go, or work at it.

What different people tell me, is that it hurts now but you will feel alot better a few months down the lane.

yes nothing worse than putting alot of time into making someone feel special, only to have them rip your heart out.

Best bit of advice I would give you is dont buy them shit or spend anything on them. My ex g/f took everything I had and I gave it to her freely, she cheated on my ass then dumped me saying she wanted space..... My next g/f I bought her nothing but gave her alot of my attention and I am now married to her and she controls the money anyhow :p

guess the lesson learned is chicks will always get your money but until your married its still yours to give.

Hang in the Tom its always difficult to see how the next one is going to come into your life, you will be better off with the experience.

Some women say they want to be cared for and be loved, have a nice house e.t.c, but the problem is they also crave the bad things. Some love arguing, others the breaking up and making up.... women are a strange lot Tom.

My gf is probably going to read this and I'll get an earache but I'll say it anyway :)...

By all means treat a girl with respect and look after her, but remember you have needs as well. You need to see your friends for example and need time apart (even if its for just a few hours). It makes for a healthy relationship otherwise if the girl asks you to do something or tells you to stay in and you do everything she says to make her happy she will grow bored. Some disagreements might result, if for example you want to go out, but she has plans for a quiet night in e.t.c, but as long as you keep it balanced (i.e not every night) and let her know plenty of time in advance, she will leading up to the night out play a few female tricks to keep you in that night but if you go out she will 'miss' you and that's the key. She will look forward to your return (sort of like how peristoric man went off hunting and the women stayed in the cave worrying if the man would come back alive).

Some people say "treat them mean, keep them keen" but I think thats crap. Never change who you are Tom, be yourself and when the time is right, she will appear...

Also I and a lot of people I know have found their ideal partner once they gave up looking. Literally gave up even thinking about it and then she pops out of nowhere :)

Lastly see the text message not as a negative thing, see it as "her loss". Men and women are like jigsaws. Some pieces never fit together, others might for a bit if you try and force it in, and others just slot in perfectly, once you've found the right piece.

Sorry to hear that Tom.

I finally walked out on my fiancee a few weeks ago, it was hard to do, but had to be done. I think I've gone through ever range of emotions since it happened, but time is healy the wounds nicely. Just have to clear off the credit card she managed to max out and then I can get on with life a bit easier.

I vow that I will never, ever get engaged again until i lived with a woman for at least a year. I don't think i lend myself very well to living with other people and the added pressure of organizing (and paying for) a wedding was just to much.

One other vow, never get involved with someone that wants to practice law, they like arguing and are way to good at it :)

Tom, I wouldn't worry about it too much, obviously wasnt worth your energy/devotion, if she goes and dumps you by text message. All I can say is, see it as a learning curve, same happened to me a few years back. Didnt take me long to get back out there and start playing the field again though, that was due to some good advice from friends (mainly Deebs) :fluffle:

Sorry to hear that Tom - but look on the bright side: at least you didn't mortgage yourself up to the hilt and buy a flat and a car with her, then then have to buy the flat back off her 2 months later when she fucked off with some other bloke?

That was me back in January.

Things can only go up when you're at rock bottom. In my case I found an additional cellar before climbing back up :)

Why is it that women tend to max out the C/C,

I had only spent £250 on it for my PSP and Xbox Live back in Jan, then when we moved in together she managed to find things to Max it out.

And the lesson is, separate bank accounts, separate credit cards. Frankly, unless you've got kids, there's absolutely no need to tie your finances together that closely.
