Duel Mod lag?

Had some comments that some strange things happened on the duel server, such as hits not registering or bullets doing too much damage etc. It was suspected by some that the duel mod had some flaws, we emailed the creator and heres what he had to say:

There has been only the one version of duel by me for base servers so I would say you have the latest. Poker is right, it doesn't affect gameplay in anyway and it cleans up everything duel needs to change (like to stop the ELF and repair pack from affecting thoseyou aren't duelin) back to normal when a duel mission is over. Feel free to look at the scripts.

Hits not registering happens in Tribes 1 because the client is always trying to guess where the players will be next in order to make them game more smooth. It can mess up and think a hit was made when it wasn't. This results in the client seeing an explosion when the actual server never registered one.

As far as bullets taking too much damage, it sounds like someone whining about hte power of the chaingun, which (as we all know heh) can chew through a light armor in a matter of seconds if done right.

The old duel mod has severe bugs, such as being stuck in a duel when you win, etc. =S

Therefore we shall be sticking with the new mod but I'm getting the old map rotation put back on.

We've had some other complaints of "jitters" on the CTF servers, which sounds similar to these commants, I shall pass them on.
