Okay I finally decided to dig out the s-video cable and connect my pc to my 9800 so I could idle on irc and play games at the same time.

As nothing goes smoothly however, I have problems. Firstly the radeon control panel has decided that my TV is running at 1028 *768, its very hard to see sod all! I cant seem to change this res. I also cant use extended desktop, it only lets me use clone mode.

What I am doing wrong, are there any other programs that will make this easier? Help.

Under Desktop - Properties - Settings choose 2 on the drop down list then change the resolution. First you need to check "Extend my windows desktop onto this montor"

However, I've found it hard to make anything readable on my TV though. I only ever use it to watch DVDs.

Its fuzzy because PAL TV resolution is 768x576, anything higher than that res will not resolve. Also, computer monitors are much much sharper than a TV, thats one reason why they cost so much more.

Setting the resolution any higher than 800x600 is a total waste of time, and may actually create more problems than it solves (jagged lines, shimmering, etc)
