What've they done with my beloved Homesite?

Thrown it into the mix of dreamweaver rankness, I'll bet :(

Love the new interfaces - obviously designed for larger resolutions

Arse!

Wish I'd read here earlier only spotted it today. I do like DWMX and it is indeed designed for the 1600x1200 of my laptop monitor :)

There was plenty wrong with DW, last I checked (DW 3 or4, I think)

Rancid GUI comes to mind. Flash had the same issues, in my mind. Badly thieved from adobe [I can say that now they've won their court case] where it actually works.

its a personal thing, obviously.

Ah rubbish Kez :p, even though it isn't the easiest UI to get used to I still prefer it to that of FP 2000/XP. :)

You're welcome to prefer it over FrontPage, in much the same way I favour Homesite's UI over the last DW incantation I saw.

It sure looks as if it's going that way Khan. :D I've never really used Homesite, is it's UI much different to that of DW?

Oh and btw Kez, if you had to choose either DW or FP which would you go for?

Isn't there a switch to activate the Homesite style view?

Yes, tick the Decent Interface box.
[I don't know, I refuse to download it]

Mister Incursion: I'd choose Notepad, failing that I'd run cmd -> edit.

:)

What? DW MX is DW6?? LOL that doesn't make sense, anyway there's nowt wrong with Notepad, especially for coding. Let's see what you've done in it then Kez. :p

(Oh btw you still never answered the question - notepad isn't a valid answer! )

I won't even pretend to understand why my name has come up in that post, due to the general irrelevency.

I don't even know where you got the idea I use notepad, or have ever done.

I just noticed with fireworks MX when u goto insert txt the really simple txt box does not appear any more, big shame !!!!

So now i can't change the font and see it appear on my canvas just by pressing the right cursor key.

Am i just talking crap now or does anyone else know wat i'm on about ?

Its photoshop style on canvas text editing. Use the property bar to edit it.

Makes it quicker to see how your text looks on the page
