Dreams

I used to have the flying dreams and they were simply the best, I still occasionally have these dreams but not as often as I used to, or as I would like :(. I also used to have dreams where I could breath under water.

Strangest dream I have ever had was when I was about 10, in my dream I was kidnapped by someone and tied up on a bed and locked in a room, it was at this point I realised I was dreaming, in this dream I was actually thinking of ways to wake myself up, one of the ways I remember was trying to decide if I should roll off the bed and hoping I would wake up, but I didn't do it in the end because I was worried I wouldn't wake and the person who kidnapped me would come in to see what the noise was :(.

Another strange dream (around the same age) was me waking, getting out of bed, I see my mum hanging towels on the line, and everything that happened in my average morning happened, I remember walking out the door into the sunshine, I could actually feel the sun and smell the fresh air, as I was walking down the road on my way to school I looked across and see people walking about with no heads, it was at this point I woke up in bed and it was 2am, it was at this stage I pulled the covers over my head (I was only young) ;).

I also used to dream of eating chocolate, I could actually taste it but I would always wake up mid dream with a really sour taste in my mouth.

Falling down elevator shafts and waking up before I hit the bottom was a re-occurring dream I used to have.

I had a recurring dream where I was falling from the sky (dunno where from, it just started and I was falling straight away) and I would fall, fall, fall, fall, fa... and then hit the water (but when I was below the clouds and above the water, all I could see was the water). It was completely peaceful, like a lagoon type thing, no swelling or surges or whatever. I'd hit the water (ignoring the "terminal velocity + water = equivalent of concrete" equation. It was more a change of surroundings, rather than actually hitting anything) and just keep on sinking. And then I'd invariably wake up before anything else happened. :)

Another one involved a dog I used to have getting skinned alive, and running around with no skin, and rubbing on my leg, and... actually, that's a really fucked up dream. :\

Hey I had something like that not so long ago.

Dreamt that my mum had cooked a nice Sunday roast with beef, potatoes broccoli etc.. I sat down, started eating, took a bite of the broccoli and it tasted like disgusting sour washing up liquid. I then woke up with exactly the same taste in my mouth. I put it down to eating a woodlouse, or a spider or something in my sleep.

I had a dream ages ago when I was younger that I was on some kind of border patrol style thing. A car stopped and we (the police/military/whatever) went over to check it out, one of the other guys opened up the boot and found whatever we were looking for so started shouting at the guy driving the car. He brought up a gun and shot me in the mouth, I felt the bullet going in and I kinda fell over in shock and woke up to find my sister laughing at me as a fly had just flown into my mouth.

Dreams eh?

I used to have a recurring dream when I was about 10 - 12 years old. It started off as a normal school day and I'd make my way there only it seemed to take alot quicker than it did usually. So once I'd arrived at school is when the strange things started, there were holes appearing in the ground trying to drag me down into the ground, and I'd start running around the playground like an idiot, arms flailing everywhere ect. Now usually I didnt fall down the holes but once or twice I'd get caught by something and it dragged me down. It wasn't a hand or anything just a sensation that I was getting dragged down. Once that had happened the falling sensation which everyone knows and as probably experienced started at this point I'd usually wake up shitting myself, arms doing the whole flailing thing again.

Another really fucked up one was that I was in the sea and something bit/nipped my big toe, I woke up to see that i'd kicked the wall in my sleep ripping the toenail off and my foot was bleeding.

I have an unusual amount of dreams of the same vein.

1. As a child I had this dream alot: The family would be sitting around the dinner table in the kitchen hiding from outside where you could see giants striding around in the countryside.

2. Alternate lifes: I find myself leading an alternating life e.g. some things may be different....i might be in college, or the shopping centre could be a large dorm etc. and I seem to fall in love with some tennis player (same age as me) and we end up having a fabulous relationship

3. Deja Vu: This is where I dream about something, and then it all comes true from a time scale of 1 month to 6 years later. I find myself walking down a street, and suddenly everything falls into place....i see people doing and saying things I remember perfectly in my dreams. I usually begin to panic and try and remember what I diddnt do and try and do that.....until I cottoned onto this in dreams and would find myself wondering if I had done this or thought about it or said it. Most recent one was a few months ago, and this was in a place that I had never seen before or heard about. These terrify me :(

4. I live out most of my usual day. Only to wake up and find its just begun. An absolute bastard of a dream

(and i had an interesting one this morning. I dreamt i was a rope merchant and diddnt have to get up as it was my minions job to do something. thus i kept switcing off my alarm clock until i only had 15 minutes left to wake up fully and get ready :( )

Yeah... i use to have one about Primary School... was a weird one, all i remember is like going to school, and everything would turn like Blood Red at the gates... Id see kids running around screaming with parents and these little "goblins" chasing them...

It happened quite a few times while i was young, maybe 8-10

Lets see I have had the lost in a maze dream! But this maze had purple brick walls and i was being chased by cartoon monsters!!!

A really weird one i've had was when i was cooking a roast chicken in the oven. I then took out the chicken and cut a hole in the top.

this is where is gets weird...

I then put my head inside the newly cut incision and when i looked inside the chicken it had a huge old wooden library inside it full of old dusty books!!!!!!!!! I then spent the rest of the dream putting my head in and out the chicken getting confused as to why this defied phyics... then i woke up :)

And from time to time im in that stage of still sleeping but realising im awake and i cant wake up!!!!

5HTP used to make me lucid dream more often than not. Holland & Barrett sell it. 100mg about an hour before bed should do it.

The snatches of dreams (different from dreams about snatches) I remember now seem to be from many years ago, when I must have been younger than 10.

I remember running down the hill next to where I used to live. I was running away from someone and my life depended on them not catching up. As I ran I would be rising slightly off the ground so that I had to really stretch to get my toes to touch the floor to propel myself along. Of course, as I got higher (only by a few centimetres) it became harder and harder to push myself along and I'd end up running, stationary in mid-air with my toes only just brushing the pavement as whoever he was got closer and closer. :(

I also remember running down the street being chased by a white 1957 Ford Thunderbird:

(I had a toy one at the time) Only it was alive, very vicious and bobbing around and 'running' like the taxi in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The front chrome grill had become a huge gapping mouth. I managed to outrun it (or rather it just disappeared from the dream) and further down the street was a 1930s car which I also had a toy of that started doing the same thing. :(

Lots of flying dreams too, which always rock. Along with the ability to leap down the stairs in a single, pain-free bound.

Ragh, I occasionally have the flying dream but the leaping down the stairs thing I remember having loads of them.

We need a dream specialist in here, to tell us what they mean tho :(

Well, in this book I read, if you dream about running away from stuff (on your tiptoes) then you have a secret ambition to be a tapdancing sailor.

Nothing to do with dreams, but I hate it when you know you have to get up at say... 8am, then can't bloody sleep from 7am onwards, always waking up every ten mins 'cos you know you absolutely can't afford to oversleep! :(

It must've been the bloke you "gorilla'd" for getting in "your" car, pre-emptively scaring the shit out of you. :)
