Dreams

I myself remember very few of my dreams.

I used to believe that I just didn't dream very often, but research has shown that we do in fact dream every time we sleep, the variable being our ability to remember them.

The dream I had last night prompted me to post this, strangest one I've had in a while.

<Scene setting>Warm and bright summers day, clear blue skies and slight breeze</Scene setting>

I'm in a car with three friends (Nadine, Phil and Damien) were all in Damien's car, and we're on our way to a free open air music event that was put on by Radio 1.

The event is being held at a stately home (or something with huge gardens etc). We get there, and there are two lanes for the car park.

The left lane is for people who want to be standing up right at the front, and the right lane is for people who want to sit down but be at the back.

We go down the left lane, which takes us to large cemetery. The plots for the graves are the perfect size for a car to park in them, so people are doing as they wish and parking on graves with gay abandon.

We park in one, but me and Damien decide to see if we can get closer to the front of the car park. So we drive down to the front and park the car by a canal.

(This is where Nadine and Phil just disappear for some reason, and by this I don't mean StarTrek style teleporting, they're just not in it anymore)

Anyway, me and Damien get out the car (don't ask me why we get out) and walk off to look for a better space, we can't find one and make our way back to the car.

But on our return we find that Damien's car is upside down in the canal.

Luckily enough this seemed to be a common occurrence, and there was a crane (and crew) stationed next to the canal. They managed to pick the car up and put it back on it's wheels, but not before advising against parking here in future.

At which point we make our way home in his soaking wet car (Nadine and Phil reappear at this point).

And that's it, I wake up.

Anyone got any ideas what this dream means? Or had anything as strange/stranger.

ffs dont ask that in here!
The guardian mob will probably try to say that you are repressing having sexual feelings for damian (whitch is perfectly fine) and the fact that you were rescude by some burly crane workers reinforces this.

Im still trying to work out the dream i had where i really had to get this cats lip off, but the knife was far to blunt and i had to use my teeth.

I had recurring dreams when I was a lad under 10, of running up and down my back street (terraced housing) and getting stuck in huge pits in the ground, from which I would try and climb back out of.

I had that dream a lot of times.

The other regular dream I had was of waking up in the night, hearing sounds downstairs, trying to walk along the upstairs landing, and getting stuck in 'really thick sticky air'. Then I'd fly downstairs at 0.1mph.

The last dream I remember was being at a friend's wedding, but I was at the reception wearing the wedding dress, speaking to my friend's sister.

Ahhh but did the dress suit you?
Can you remember looking at any mirrors at all?If not then its just a case of you being happy for your freind and possible wishing you were the bride for once
;)

Oh my I just remembered a dream that really shit me up at the time, and just sent tingles down my back.

I would awake in the night (about 20 years old or so), hear noises downstairs, and look out of the kitchen window into the back yard. At the gate, I would see a dim red light, and crouching down I would move to the back door, look through the keyhole, and see a man moving around outside the yard, on the other side of the gate. He had some kind of laser device, shining it around the back wall and windows on the house. I would get my dad out of bed, and he would go out and check around (what a wuss I was), and never find anything.

But that man was still out there.

Beejeezzuz, my hairs are standing up on my arms, remembering that dream. And it was a recurring dream too, had it loads of times, all along the same theme.:scared:

Actually I think it's because I quite fancy my friend's sister, and hope to marry her one day :D

Just be glad your dreams have some resemblance with life.

One of my recurring dreams involves (this is how I describe it)being crushed between a giant thumb and forefinger that is wearing velvet gloves (I hate this material :)). And thats it, depending on how long it is before I wake up depends on how long the crushing goes on, it mostly happens when I'm ill, when I overheat etc. When I was younger I couldn't stop it, even when I'd woken up I would get the same feeling :(

Have you ever had that sleep paralysis. You wake up feeling as though something is sitting on your chest but you cant move arms or legs?

That freaks me out when it happens to me even though there is a rational and scientific explanation.

I used to have dreams about being in school with no shoes on?? One that freaked me out though was from years ago, we were on a journey somewhere in our car and had to cross over some huge river.. except the bridge was just two wheel-width pieces of steel

Hmm water, did you piss your pants Nos? :p

I just had a really wierd dream - my cousins were staying around my house, and one couldnt hear or speak or something and shouted BYE as the rest of us were on the way out.

We were going to Central London to leave somebody's baby - which was in a black pram, and my mum was pushing it. So we turn the corner in my road, and there's a white van coming along the road with a guy with a moustache and a few nurses - and a sign saying 'avoid this'.

The guy asked us if we wanted to be injected with something; he didn't say it was like.. poison or something, but he DID say that if we didnt do it now, the next time he saw us, we would be forced to.

So the van drove on, but I started getting scared and I wanted to walk faster - we seemed to be walking so slowly. We got onto the main road, and there was a lot of traffic so we kept walking. Then, there was a junction and I saw the white van again, so I shit myself, and went into a cab place and hid by the door frame. This cab place turned into a bus, and I was sitting down and my mum too (although the baby and the rest of the people had gone) and she was wearing some black dress.

The van pulled up next to the cab place and I started shitting myself, and I saw the man (a doctor?) and about 6 nurses (all women) jump out and start running after certain people, trying to inject them. Then they noticed my mum (who seemed oblivious to the 'danger') through the bus window - just before a nurse got on, the bus driver started moving the bus, and he squished a few nurses. We broke through traffic and drove away.

Then there was some random stuff, with me on my own, about to go on a ferry (to Blackpool ? ), trying to phone my local GP surgery for a cure to the injection...

wierd. (sorry for the long post)

:eek7: That's a weird one indeed.

I have a recurring nightmare that spiders are crawling all over the bed :( Freaks my missus out when she wakes up & I'm randomly hitting the duvet like mad...

The thumb thing.

I had that. :(

I used to dream I was on a giant thumb and there was a matchstick involved.
I'm glad I don't have it anymore.

I do dream of plane crashes fairly regularly tho. Which I believe is about having no control in your life, your choice being restricted.

I don't like them either.

Oh. And I once shagged Kim Basinger.

Smoking cannabis drastically reduces the number of dreas you remember...one of the bad sides of being a toker. So I can't really comment on dreams, having had maybe two in 7 years. And I only remembered those for about 30 minutes after I woke up.

One of my friends has the weirdest thing in the world. She'll be having a dream, and it'll seem like she's woken up. Her eyes open, but she can't move, and can still see the dream images. Pretty fucking freaky when that is coming out of a nightmare.

That's quite common. Different parts of your brain can actually wake up at different times. Sometimes I can be completely awake in every other way but unable to move because the bits of my brain that control movement haven't bothered to wake up yet. I just lie there paralysed.

I call those work days :D

Seriously though it's true.

I can often realise I'm dreaming and then just decide to dream about whatever I want to dream about. That's schweet :)

In fact even when I don't consciously realise I'm dreaming something in my brain lets me know because I always have the ability to fly in drwams and it seems perfectly natural.

I almost never try this in real life :)

Dreams are cool. They don't mean much though. Remember Freudianism is all bullcock !!!1

Only really remember 2 dreams - one of which isnt really a "dream" - more of an iterim wakeup but scared the shits outta me.

I remember reading IT! by Stephen king until about 3am, then falling asleep.

Woke up a little later with the certainty that "something" else was in the room. I couldnt move or feel my body, only my eyes.

I as certain the shadows were moving. However hard I tried, my body wouldnt respond, my heart started pounding in my ears, the cold sweats over my body. My sphincter started clamping up.

I was sure the clown was in my room - certain.

Then a hand clamped over my face like a crab from Aliens. I screamed and you couldnt pass a visa card between the cheeks of my arse.

Course the scream woke all the fecking house up and I was Mr popular for the rest of the week.

As for the hand - yeah - it was mine. Totally numb from sleeping on it.

I sleep on my stomach, always have, and sometimes I wake up with pins ' n needles in my arm because somehow it's got under my body.
The other day I woke up unable to move, I had managed to get both arms underneath me and they were completely dead. I asked Mrs Yuck for some assistance in turning over so that I could get the blood back in my arms. She laughed and pointed :(

Eventually by using my legs only I managed to get to the edge of the bed and fall off. Then the blood started pumping back into my arms and it hurt, it hurt a lot. Mrs Yuck laughed some more :(

You mean you couldn't have used your legs to turn over in bed?

I get that really often. It's just before I wake up and I can feel loads of people standing around me but I can't open my eyes, move or say anything. So I keep struggling and eventually I wake up.

Really unpleasant :/

My arms were crossed over underneath me, completely fucking useless, and making turning over difficult. Turning over on a softish surface when laying flat using only your legs is more difficult than you might imagine.
