Dragon Raid Side-Show: an add-itional idea!

Hi,

Last Dragon Raid went great and was
much fun! Thanks for that!

Now, we all agree that the Dragon didn't
kill us, the adds did. The Add Control
Groups couldn't keep up in the end and
I think everyone would get confused :)

For relaxing the Add Control groups I had
the idea of making a new group:
Side-Show! Meaning that somebody is
making 2 or 3 full groups of peeps 40-45
peeps that need exp and fun!
What they will do is roam outside the
lair of the Dragon and as much as
possible protect the back. They need
the exp and enjoy the big hunt. Ofcourse
they can't claim items.

If they roam in a little zerg of 2 or 3 groups they
can easly kill the glimmers
there with 4 of them. Ofcourse,
ballanced groups needed.

I don't know how much peeps will showup
on such thing, but I will be glade to
help organising those groups and lead them.
They will enjoy the protection of the
big zerg moving to there and will exp
on the glimmers there.

What you guys think and do we have
enough peeps for making those
groups? Ofcourse.. they might loose
some to. :)

Yeh, noticed some were dying after getting TP'ed, not many but irritating none the less ;)

I like the idea very much so i think we could try it.

Furthermore i would like to say that the add control groups could not handle the adds because they were told to fight the dragon at some point. So we started to fight dragon and when adds came we were either 1) dead because of the dragon 2) totally ooe because of fighting the dragon/rezzing people.

I think we should either all fight the dragon and all kill adds when they come (keeping one or two rezzer groups out of both fights ofc) or get more people to fight the dragon and keep the add control groups strictly for adds only.

prob is that the mobs who spawned when dragon was at low hp, was uber glimmers. 2-3 fgs with lvl 45-49 would have no chanse against them. I think when dragon is that low everyone have to consentrate to kill those uber glimmer pops asap and then the dragon.

On one of the early raids we used rangers to pull out the aggro mobs to a waiting army of mages rdy to nuke em to hell while the tanks melee'd the dragon and healers waited on the hill to rezz the fallen.

On this attempt we got the dragon to 10% (think it was Nij's raid, forget now, was a long time ago)

It was a case of rezz the dead, buff em to hell and send them back in rezz sick, no healing allowed to avoid pulling aggro to the rezzers. It was effectively a two-pronged attack that worked really well untill the dragon went teleport crazy and wiped us.

You need people to kill the dragon, we had like 6fgs standing back killing adds? and 4-5 max hitting the dragon, its when the groups that were supposed to be taking care of adds charged, that we got dragons health down.

I think everyone should take care of dragon and when adds come everyone except a few ppl would go for adds, the remaining will keep dragon in combat so it does not regen health.

Whatever gets decided.... add-control groups or not..... my experience is don't let ppl camp outside the NW entrance of the liar. Blood will flow there and it won't be blood from the adds.

It's too close to a spawnpoint of purple geists/warshades that roam around there and they keep coming non-stop.

I was in an add control group once, camping that spot with 3fg and after a couple of minutes fighting non-stop, all oom/ooe, we got wiped because there are always some people standing too close to the trees and keep bodypull these monsters.

The idea sounds nice Kemuri but imo, anyone below lvl 50 will only go home with less xp :(

when the adds popped, about 75% of the fighting force was dead (thx aoe)

imo, you need at least 2 well balanced (2 tanks, 1 warden, 3 pbae, 1 druid, 1 bard) groups of lvl 50's just dedicated to defending the rezzer's, when the huge pops happen, that gives you a bit of a buffer to get some of your force out from the dragon/rezzed to deal with the adds, rather than having 30 odd healers, 10 res sick mages and about 5 res sick tanks trying to kill them

2 fg lvl 50's would've been able to handle that spawn if they were rested, buffed and well balanced imo

the problem as i see it is that people get bored of waiting around watching everyone else suici^^ attack the dragon, and want to have their go at it too.. and then the add control groups just fall apart

Yeah, prolly all glimmers out there are to
high for -45 :(
But maybe I can try to summon peeps
when Dragon Raid starts. If I don't get
4 full groups of those lvls, I don't go
for it. It's just for standing between
the rezzers and not even going close to
the dragon.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna set that
grouping up and give it a try. We will
have more peeps involved and more fun.

Btw, about the position, we should really
be at then entrance opposite the
trees-entrance.

Just to clarify one thing: these groups of
mine will be additional to the normal ACGs!!!!

I doubt two full groups of organized people can kill 10 level 60+ mobs running around at once :p

Then i think the uber glimmers is more then level 60 :D

And that you are not speaking about a normal balanced group, hehe ^_^

ressick i was hitting them for about 300 with pbae, imo with pbt, good tanks and healers 2 fg could handle 10 of them

Tyka is right, just charge the fecking dragon and have alot of ressers standing ready....screw buffing before charging again...just ress, and at it again, spread healers out alot and dont have people waiting for pops, let some groups handle em when they pop.

It really isnt that hard to kill dragon, just need lots of people and lots of ressers, and you will get him down in 30-60 mins. Just never stop ressing :)

Good luck on next attempt.

Edit: We also try not to use /stick, but only /face, and staying under the belly/wings as much as possible.
